I know alot of you are nice and helpful to other fellow DDR lovers, but this forum would be alot better if everyone wasn't so nitpicky about everything, citing typos, or misinformation in a smart-as_ way , making the writer feel like an idiot. I expect some of this , but it seems to be so rampant on this message board.
Please search the whole entire web before posting, because your answer might be somewhere else....I mean seriously, heaven forbid that you post without searching every post on here......don't want to get a lock.....ok venting, but seriously, we are all lovers of DDR , can't we just all get along and be helpful and kind to one another on this message board. If someone posts something they have to live in fear that they have to make a good post or else they be made to feel like a dork for posting at all.
Maybe the organization of the site could be made better instead of having someone lock almost every thread. but oh well, anyway..........
I am also a member of an anime message board and everyone is so nice and it actualy feels like a community. I think i may be asking too much, but hey, never hurts to express my opinion. Ok now u can block me, weee.

You should go over to the forums at www.penny-arcade.com Then go to "Social Entropy++." Make a thread saying "Hi, I'm new!" Hell, make a thread that says ANYTHING. See what happens.

Typing a couple search terms in to the search function, or doing a quick look around on the site takes minimal effort on your part. If you do not and ask a question like "Where can I find a song list for DDR Extreme?" Then we must lock that. Now, multiply that by 100. That would be 100 times the work for us because the users think they shouldn't have to look around. Now, if you did a little work then we wouldn't have to do as much. The work would be more evenly spread about and everyone would be happy. I'll tell you right now that I get annoyed when someone puts in no effort, demands someone give them the answer and then bitches when their thread gets locked. If they aren't going to show respect to us, why should we show respect to them?

Maybe if people paid attention to the organization of the site and used some common sense we wouldn't have to lock so many threads. If there is a sticky, post in it. Don't want to because your information might get lost? Well, not only is that not a very good excuse but that's not how it works around here.
I'll note now that I've seen people get banned for bringing something up like this on other boards. Notice you are not getting warning points or being banned. Why should you be? There are plenty of other places that are more hostile than we will ever be.

How large is the board? If it's the same size as our message board then in all honesty you're probably ignoring something or not seeing it. If it's smaller then obviously it will be nicer. The rules don't have to be as strict and there will be a stronger sense of community because only 100 people post instead of 10,000.
Locking (I've already said why).
