It is a videogame. You put the disc into your PS2 or XBox and play it. So what if it's with a dance pad? What more clarification can a person ask for? If that's still not good enough, videogames can be classified into different types, so why wouldn't DDR fall under a music & dancing game category?

I wouldn't go so far as to imagine DDR as an Olympic sport. This is my opinion, but I believe that would be just...taking things way too far. DDR competition is what tourneys are for.
