tx-1000 only works on a 30* angle Oo

my tx-1000's down arrow only works when i tip it on a 30 degree angle...
and before that i could just move it away from my tv, and it would start working then move it back and it would work for a few hours.

now also out of nowhere my topleft and topright arrows stopped working...
i havent got them to work at all yet... but mydown arrow seems to work if i just tip the pad a bit... it also appears that even if i raise it a foot off the ground and try the down arrow it still doesnt work... so it doesnt have to do with the carpet.

anyone have any idea what it is?
(btw if any tells me to return it has never paid shipping on a 20lb item >>)
