The rest of the songs blew buttocks and were probably left off the mix for good reason. I seriously am not going to dance to any song called "Shake My Men" and "Telephone Operator". The gay inuendos that ensue from that are bad enough.

Relax dude. You're playing a dancing video game. You're not exactly exuding macho maleness to begin with here. I'm pretty sure it's impossible to suddenly become gay from dancing to a certain song. You've got nothing to worry about.

It's "So Many Men" and it has good steps on SSR btw. And despite having said that, I do indeed have sexual intercourse with women thumb.gif

I started playing about 4 years ago, and I am happy I did. I got to experience things like DDRUSA, which really makes me appreciate what there is now. On the other hand, about four years ago, although there were less people playing, those that were really got into it. Freestyling seemed much more prevalent, and just as cool and worthy as PAing, new mixes came out and kept the crowds interested, and the arcade crowds were simply bigger and more energetic. I miss the good ol' days sometimes, especially as the older arcade mixes finally die to become Extremes. E2.gif

I've been playing for about 9 or 10 months now and it just sucks that all of the really good players are moving on.

Going through the old threads is funny. Yasu was still AAAing new shit and everything...that must have been fun. Now that I'm starting to get decent PA, all I hear is everyone talking about how the game is dead...that kind of blows.

A new arcade mix would rock if it wasn't so damn unlikely. So it kinda sucks to jump on the bandwagon late, but whatev, it's still fun.

I'll probably master DDR right before it becomes totally extinct, then move onto ITG once ITG becomes uncool. It happens.

YOu can always look forward to new In The Grooves... I know its not the same but still... I started playing DDR just last month and I'm a little sad that I have no mixes to look forward too. But I'm collecting the older mixes ( japanese and american). They arn't that bad, in my opinion. They have some of my favorite songs and a few songs I just enjoy. Who know, Japan may come out with a few more PS2 versons? Or... yeah we'll see.

I started playing in january on a max2 machine. Im not that good, all i can do is 5-6's on standard, which prevents me from going to the extreme by my house because all they heavy players crack up when i come to play. For me, its not about the mix, its about the songs. I wouldn't give a damn what mix im playing unless it has the songs i like such as tsugaru, b4u and daikenkai.

I dont like those retarded long versions. I am happy with the shorter songs in Extreme (which is when I started as well, after it came out) because with those long versions you are just doing the same step patterns over and over again and are thinking "ALRIGHT END ALREADY!" And yeah I am kind of bummed that DDR is just about dead but I am looking forward to ITG coming out so really im not all that bummed that I started after Extreme came out. Not to mention, the mixes before Max came out look like they all suck anyways.

Just so you know, ITG songs, on average, are half a minute longer than DDR songs, and so, a few of the song in ITG (ITG1 anyway) have rather repetitive step patterns as well. ... Well, ITG's still cool though, sometimes the repetitive spots are good for relaxing and regaining stamina.

Just for the record, I find B4U Glorious better than Hot Limit. As for Starting DDR Late... I'd say: Better late than never! I started like a few months before the last Max2 in my area turned into Extreme (so that's not that late I guess?), I'd say that it's regrettable that I only played Max and Max2 a handful of times (and of course back then I wouldn't have known which songs were exclusives...). Now when I look back, I find it much more depressing for a Max/Max2 to turn into Extreme than an Extreme to turn into an ITG, mostly because Extreme machines are everywhere (in my area) and u can't find other mixes any more, and I played Extreme for like... 2 years? It does get a little boring playing the same thing 2 years I guess. ... and, ITG is fun.

How many of you people out there are mad because you just started playing DDR after Extreme came out?

It still makes me mad that started playing DDR when Extreme came out. Its like theres nothing to look forward to in DDR. I would have had more fun if i knew about it when 5th mix came out or something

true it does seem that way but that shouldnt make you mad

O...m....g...... Don't be putting down my DDR songs like B4U (Especially Glorious!) disgust.gif And its true, repetitive steps are actually very good for your stamina and your muscles. Why do you think back in school they made you do 30 jumping jacks or puchups, instead of just one or two? Duh. disturb.gif

I started playing about 4 years ago on a 5th mix machine. Back then, alot of people were free styling and most people i knew were all newbies. It was alot of fun, and i think i may start again (i stoped about a year and half ago), i played ITG many months ago (a local arcade was the first to have it on the east coast!!!!), and while its fun (and really damn hard), its not the same as DDR. I just cant see how DDR could really be dead (i used to work at a game store, and man, tons of people came in to buy DDR extreme, and Ultramix 2, and pads, etc), the US market just seems to be growing so much, konami should at least come out with one more mix...

They also taught you how to SPELL laugh.gif . And I always hated the jumping jacks and push-ups; I just wanted to get to the game already.

I'd probably be mad about only being able to play an extreme machine.... if I didn't have stepmania w/ a metal pad. Still I'd like to play E-rotic and flash in the night in arcade... sigh.

Plenty more! disturb.gif this game can't die. We need to do something. If only I had Konami's address.
