I have to write an expository essay comparing 2 brands. Being the DDR enthusiast I am, I'm doing Cobalt Flux and Red Octane Metal dance pads. I just need your input about the quality, the price, was it a good deal, whatever! I don't have time to be bumped off by mods if this is supposed to go in the controllers forum, its due on the 26th.

To the mods: LOCK THREAD ON 26th TOO REMEMBER THAT

THANK YOOOU FOR INPUTING

Ignitions are lovely but they have a very short shelf life. I haven't tried a CF yet. Try asking in the Console forum.

Well, if the Red Octane metal is almost the same as a TX-1000 then....

It is true that Cobalt flux will be extremely durable but cost $300 per pad (570 for doubles pack?)
On the other hand....
RO metal pad is about only half the price of the cobalt flux (~150), but dont really last too long considering their "Very fast 4 screw setup" will practically destroy the outside of the pad

For me: Quality > Price

EDIT:Try going to the hardware forum at http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=37 for more information
