soft pad problems

EDIT: Nevermind, figured out it was a problem with the adapter...amny suggestions are helpful though.

Bleh, I'm having problems with one of my softpads.

First of all, I'm using one of the PS softpads (likes so) with a Super Dual Box adapter (like so). The game I play is Stepmania.

Now then, one pad works fully (registers steps and such) but the other one won't register steps. I know it's drawing power and responding to steps but when I hook it up with Stepmania, it doesn't register. The other one works perfectly fine with it. I haven't used them too much and they're both in great condition.

Any suggestions?
