Need a little help

I got a metal pad...i think a generic one... one that u buy from Fry's, you know? well, anyways... my right arrow keeps detecting a step and it holds it down, so i took off the acryllic piece with the metal piece attached and there are now no contact with the sensor and the metal, yet it still holds the right arrow causing me to not be able to press the right arrow while playing...so the pad is pretty much useless...

i think the sensor is broken, but im not sure... does anyone know where i can get a replacement sensor? or what can i do with this pad to get it functioning again?
