Dance Dance Revolution: Forever, is a custom StepMania project that is going on behind the scenes at Tokyo Game Action as we speak. We are ordering in a ddr machine and completely re-building it and install the stepmania interface. Below you will find information about our first software test, which will be going on from 4/8/05 - 4/17/05 at Tokyo Game Action in Woonsocket, RI. Try to check the software test out there or at Anime Boston.
prepping the pads to be wired to the computer
me fixing some silly screen issues
the TGA logo on the machine looking sexy as hell
the Arcade Lifestyle logo (shameless self promotion )
Andy getting his groove thang on
Song Score Page
music selection screen
that's a hell of a lot of music
Note: For anyone who plans to test this machine out, please give me feedback on this so I can make adjustments for my later version. Again I will stress that this is only a software test, since this is not the hardware we will be using in the final some song timings may be off, there is nothing we can do to fix that until we have the final hardware in. |

Looks like FoonMix, with some custom changes (like the TGA and AL logo and stuff).
Good job, man. Wish we had something like that here in CO. |

yeah, the theme is a heavily modified version of FoonMix Plus, I had to fix alot of metrics issues to use with rc2 and changed alot of graphics and fonts. |

The monitor wasn't too much of a secret, I just used an ArcadeVGA and a J-Pac together it it worked awesome. (http://www.ultimarc.com they are like $90 a piece) |

i dunno...seems pretty ok, but what a waste of a perfectly good extreme machine , unless your able to change it back to extreme and stepmania whenever you want, then i would say its sweet. _________________

I presume this has all the songs from Extreme on it, plus much more, and it's running software that has all the capabilities of Extreme, plus much more, and it's using the same pads, speakers, and monitor as Extreme -- so in what way is it not better than Extreme? |

A huge collection of BGAnimations/BGVideos that give you and all the kids five months of nightmares?
That's the only thing I can think of.

If you used the j-pac to hook up the monitor, why didn't you use the jamma harness in the game to wire up the controls? (referring to your picture where you were "prepping the pads") I've heard of problems with certian arrows not working through a j-pac, but I haven't had anyone confirm it. _________________

That certian arrows problem is the reason they USB Anized the pads, that and they never want to go back to a DDR machine.
My machine i do, and i want to do this without having to tape wires back together, so im working on a solution right now that will solve the problems with Arrows, and buttons not working without having to rip up the wires in the machine. It wont be easy, but it should work. _________________
