That's the Way is OLD.
Tubthumping was about 5 years old by 2nd Mix. And forgotten.
Flashdance, In The Navy, and Holiday WERE COVERS AND NEVER PLAYED IN AMERICAN RADIO. |

My god child, do you ever finish a sentence with a period?
Anyways, I think it would be intresting to see how it fits into the game. Considering most of the music on DDR is japanese pop and shizzle. |

I hate mainstream songs on DDR. They are always too easy. Either make them hard or don't have any at all. |

Yeah, who cares about casual players and potential DDR buyers who will probably buy DDR if they see songs they like! THEY SUCK! Damn elitists.
Anyway, how do you expect to make 9 footers out of mainstream songs? They're not that complex! And songs can have good steps without being whoamg eleventy footers. *points to: Move Your Feet, Music -bostik radio edit-, and just about every UM2 liscence* |

Yet again: how the hell do you expect to go around making 9s of out of mainstream songs? MAINSTREAM SONGS ARE NOT COMPLEX ENOUGH. There's no way you could make Days Go By a 9 without it just being stupid |

This thread makes me cry.
What exactly is everyones definition of Mainstream?
I'd like to think Konami is smart enough to realize that bands like Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, 50 Cent, etc. would not work well on DDR. That's mostly because they are, gasp, NOT DANCE MUSIC!
However, what about the mainstream music that IS dance music; what's so wrong with that? Would you actually be complaining about a song like Crazy In Love being in DDR? Why?
Most songs like the above example would be great songs for freestyle. If you want tech you can make an edit. It's honestly not that hard to make a song harder. Find a beat, throw in some 16'ths, VIOLA, like a virgin is now a 10.
I like what they're doing with the Dancing Stage series because they are putting in some fantastic dance songs in their mixes. Come Into My World, Freak Like Me, Good Luck, Gotta Get Thru This etc. are all awesome songs for DDR. All could be considered "Mainstream" in europe (at least), and i personally welcome it.
If you want difficulty, go play ITG.
Oh yeah, and Love At First Sight owns your soul. _________________
