I just finished making this DDR pad yesterday... I've been working on it for at least a month. Taping foam pads down to plywood just didn't work anymore. I just wanted to show it off and see what comments people had about it...

Switches in the control box, or like the contacts on the dance pad.
The contacts are metal bars contacting the sheet metal panels on top. |

I didn't use any plans from anywhere, I just thought of it myself.
I was actually really surprised the first time I got to try it... It hasn't missed a step yet. |

Nice pad man. Two questions:
1. How long did it take?
2. How much did it cost? _________________

that's a nice settup
how long do you think it'll last?
if you play barefoot for a long time, and your feet sweat, will you get shocked? |

Probably like 10 hours contruction time.
We had most of the materials just lying around, so only cost me $40. Probably $80 if I had to buy everything.

I've probably played it for 40 hours, it hasn't shown ANY signs of not working... Definately no shocking - it's only like 3 volts. Besides, its strong enough that I always just wear my shoes.

so the contact system is just the sheet metal on top? with like weather stripping or somthing to keep it off the bottom contacts?
basically a simplified homepad design? or what?
can u get pics?
nice job with that bar too...basically NO ONE has gotten one to work really, or that i kno of anyway... _________________
