Sorrow = sadness. A "sorrow" song (I'm assuming you mean "what were the requirements songs had to meet to get into Road of Sorrow") is a sad one.

| Look at any of the songs in the Sorrow oni course. All of the songs there have complex rhythms at a mid-range BPM. So... yeah. Hope that helps. |

I guess that these songs are about expressing your feelings, getting hurt emotionally, remembering something
Sorrow any other word for expressing sadness?

Oh god you guys are killing me.
A sorrow song is generally defined as a song where the beat is not regular patterns throughout. Obviously the name came from the Sorrow oni course in Extreme, where there were 5 of these songs with those characteristics. All of these songs have generally high amounts of chaos. Sometimes defined as off-beat, which I don't like using because songs like Get up n' Move Trick, are mainly off-beat but nothing like a sorrow.
Other songs that can define as sorrow are the following:
Xenon
Graduisic Cyber
On The Jazz
Gamelan de Couple
AM-3P (AM east mix)
NOT So Deep, Orion.78 (AMeuro mix) et cetera, which has a defined pattern throughout the song but still has a high amount of chaos.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but can you explain why? At least the other definitions make intuitive sense. On the other hand, I don't see the connection between "beat" and "sorrow".
That said, the actual musical definition of "sorrow songs", prior to DDR co-opting the term, is spirituals, aka black folksongs. I wish Konami had picked a different name for that Oni course. |
