The problems I encounter always happen when I play at hotels. (in wisconsin dells)

1. People who are trying to be cool are dancing next to me and asking me for money.

2. When people play and have wet shoes and don't wipe off the pad afterwards. I never notice and end up slipping all through the song, getting laughed at by the same fool who played with wet shoes.

3. This one kid thought he was tough **** and was doing max300 on standard, spin the disc and tsugaru (he really was pretty good) and in between songs he would run down the clock and talk to a group of admiring onlookers behind him. There was a huge line of people waiting to go and he just sat there in between every song (5 songs at this machine)

4. I hate it when people get on the machine and get in front of me just to screw with me and be cool for there friends. This one kid actually started hitting the up arrow for me. I poked him in the eyes, it was awesome E4.gif

5. This happened at a pump it up machine: This father had a small kid (still in diapers) and the kid was just on the machine stomping, and the parents thought it was cute and put their other kid on the machine and started video taping it because they thought it was cute. They sat there for a good 20 minutes and I didnt even end up getting to play.

6. One time my friend and I were playing, and at the time we weren't all that good (only able to do 7's and 8's) but we ended up getting stalked by these ugly 13 year old kids who had Good Charlotte shirts on. It was awful. My friend and I finished our game and went outsde, and they followed. Then they started trying to smoke a cigarette to be cool and they couldn't do it, it was pathetic.

7. I also hate it when I play at an arcade/comic/anime shop, and if my friend and I don't do too well, people who aren't even playing will stop their card game and play just to show us up and say we suck. I hate people like that.

Dude, the thing that really ticked me off was when a dude spilt coke on the dance platform, and just left it there, and the worst part about it was that it was my turn to play next.... It felt like the pad was made to have extra traction it was so sticky. Then when I wiped the coke off of the platform and my feet, I felt like I was going to slip, because i was so used to my feet sticking to the platform.

Well, as many other's have said, stomping really pisses me off.
Also, people who won't wait to see if anyone else wants to play with them when it's their turn.
Uhh...people who will stand outside of the arcade with their friends who don't even play and pretend like they can.
People who think it's so easy (try it your self! Lol)
Show off's, like people who will do a song you just did just to prove they're better than you.
People who don't clean up after themselves (we almost had the machine where I go turned off for a week because of that)
And finally, overall disrespect for the machine. I'm talking about matrix walking, hitting it in a rage, stomping on purpose, getting it dirty, etc.

thsi is mroe of a funny story but it pissed me off. i was playing at a movie theatre and at first only my g/f was watching and i was doing tsugaru and matsuri japan and during japan some group of kids my age walk up and start saying i was good and better then people they've seen. so i was like ok, thats cool. but after japan i was VERY tired. so i went to max 300 and changed the difficulty from heavy to standard. and started playing the kids started saying that i was weak and why the hell wasnt i playing on heavy. i ended up failing because of there non-stop nagging and bull****. so when i got off the machine i looked at them and smiled. "if you think i suck, get up on teh machine and prove me it" they just stared and walked away...lol, but i hate when people say yuo suck and cant even play

1. Ever been to Fry's and see little girls who think they are playing the game, when it's just some mindless poopy from a Barbie video?

2. 6-10 year-olds who do heavy and then run away.

3. When people say" I wanna challenge you!" (it's a stupid stereotypical mexican fat kid), and I beat him as he runs away.

I lolled. laugh.gif But what if it was Kosaka Riyu?

If, in the rare extreme, the person is Kosaka Riyu: I will propose for marriage on the spot. E13.gif laugh.gif

meet her there in 7 years THEN propose for marraige
Do you think Kosaka Riyu would marry someone like Yasu or Takeo Ueki (DDR world-record-holder)?

Top 10 Doubles gripes:

1. When you're playing doubles and they want to shadow you...on the pad. (NOOB)

2. When you're playing doubles and someone stands on P2 side when you're running like hell from P1 side.

3. When they get mad at you for smashing them off the pad in #2. (Like we can really help it...heheh)

4. When little kids jump on the pad. Supervise your children, parents!

5. Seeing someone playing doubles while gripping both bars for dear god. (That REALLY gets to me.)

6. Hearing someone verbally masturbate about how good they are on doubles and then seeing them use the bar(s)...and failing.

7. This actually happened to me once. When some bumhole, and a COMPLETE STRANGER at that, sticks something like a broomstick between your legs mid-song. This is dangerous on doubles or singles. Not only for me, but for the bumhole that gets his face palmed by me afterwards. (Lucky for me I grabbed the bar, then after smashing him I got my money back! Yay! DON'T frick DO THAT!!)

8. Watching drunks trying to play anything (but doubles is fun to watch.)

9. People who claim that doubles is a waste of time/money. (Mostly single bar rapers that come to this conclusion.)

10. People who publicize the health benefits of DDR, i.e. "I lost XX pounds, I'm so fit, my legs are nice and strong, I feel great, etc..." then go outside after a hard doubles/singles game and start smoking. ::falls over and dies::

And that about sums up anything especially annoying that I have encountered in my four years of DDR steppin'.

Why should you have to? It's just common courtesy. If you need to have a loud conversation, don't do it a foot away from someone who's trying to play... and if you want to shadow, just ask first.

And uh, nice double-post Goggles...

I can't stand people who think that playing on both pads is called Doubles. It is called Double. Just look at the machine next time you play double. It's clearly written "Double"

5 Things I hate the most about some DDR players:

1. Unwelcome Shadows: Some people will come up and show no respect for u and just jump on and shadow you in the middle of a song without even asking, and you don't even know them.
2. Broken Records: People who play the same song over, and over, and over again. It drives me crazy!
3. Untalented Show-Offs: People who think they're the sh*t cuz they can AA Captain Jack in Light mode. Taunt other DDR players and try to show off.
4. Unpatient Players: These people will come up in front of the screen while you're in the middle of a song and put a coin on there. Also people who jump up on the stage as soon as you're done with your 3rd song or as soon as you fail.
5. Vandalism: People who show no respect for the owner by vandalizing the machine by putting stickers on it without telling the owner first, people who write on it, or people who just stomp on the pad really hard when it's not necessary.

i'm happy for this subject...even if it repeats because we all need a place for this kind of venting.

my top pet peeves in the arcade in no particular order

token stealing

pushing

guys thinking girls can't play ddr

ppl being biggots and saying things like "ddr is gay"

ppl who stomp so hard on the pad just because theyre ignorant or mad at the pad itself and break it for everyone

ppl who sweat/leave garbage/or have crud on their shoes and play without cleaning it up

unwelcome shadowing or leaning on my bar

ppl who try to talk to you while you're playing

kids who play butterfly 100 zillion times in a row ignoring the concept of a coin line (which is NOT exclusive to ddr) and/or get 3 or more of their friends on the pad with them so they can "help hit the buttons"

ppl who diss newbs without giving them a chance....everyone has to start somewhere i know i did

little kids w/out PARENTS to stop them from stealing/poking/or jumping in front of me!!!! where are the FREAKIN parents?!?!?!

(not being narcissistic it amazes me) guys who hit on me WHILE i'm playing the game. what is that?!?!?! dont get kindergarden about it do not push/touch/or talk to me while i'm playing (or some of that in general).

number one thing that ticks me off.... DO NOT TELL ME I SUCK! once i had a little kid of like 10 maybe 12 tell me this while i was playing max unlimited to which i replied....."i may suck, but i can buy beer."

I haven't been playing DDR for that long (since October), but I'm at the point that I'm confident enough to play in the Movie Theater while looking pretty good. Things that piss me off:

1) Little kids and their angry parents. Little kid wants to play midsong, cries when I ignore him, mom comes and yells at me, and I explain that you get 3 songs, and I payed for mine, she goes stomping off.

2) Stupid "gangsta's" that make fun of you for playing DDR.

3) Shadowing w/o asking.

4) Dirty inconciderate people.

5) Conversing mid-play.

6) People telling you to fail just because they want to go. (Pick an extra long song in this case)

That's all I can think of for now...
