hey guys, ive heard somethings about there being to many ddr exteme machines and not as many older mixes.

there hasnt been a thread about this that ive seen so im asking. what do you guys think? do you think its a bad thing that there a more ddr extreme mixes then the older ones? do you prefer the older ones over extreme or visevera? or do you not have a preference either way and just play on whatever is around?

well, everyone sees that extreme is the bestest thing so they hop on the bandwagon. im surprised all extremes havent fallen to in the groove. but yeah it sucks how even the rare solos get sacrificed and turned into extreme zombies

I think it's a bad thing because I haven't been able to play 4th Mix PLUS and/or 5th Mix in a LONG time and there are a lot of great songs on those two mixes that are not in Extreme. That and we've lost a lot of 3rd Mix Korean2's to upgrades (which is by far my favorite mix).

I think its sucks too! I just started playing ddr about 2 and 1/2 months ago and all ive played is extreme at the arcade cause they got rid of the other mixes so basically i own max1,2 and extreme but thats it. I want to experience other songs as well but its hard when they're gone.

Yeah it does suck, i've been playing DDR for 5-6 months and i would love to play a 4th mix.Actually even a 7th mix would be nice, anything other then extreme is hard to play on without having a good size drive ahead of you usually. But as long as i don't get stuck with one of those "American DDR extreme machines" that bootleg crap, i really shouldn't be complaning.

Arcade managers just don't understand the real demand out there - unlike other games, DDR doesn't need an upgrade to play better.

Bring back the 5th mixes. blink.gif

I haven't had the pleasure of playing anything below 6th Mix >.<
Our arcade has a 6th Mix machine and Extreme...and I don't get to go to any other arcades. disgust.gif

i understand wat u mean. ive been playing for about a year i suppose, but i havent played many of the other mixes. but i mean i love extreme, dont get me wrong here, but while i was in chicago i did play ddr max 2 7th mix, and i enjoyed it. alot. i wish they would get one closer to home, u no? or atleast put some other mixes out around this town.

Personally, I wouldn't play anything older than 6th mix, since I need my speed mods... there already is a 7th mix near me, and there are only 2 songs on 6th mix I'd want to play that aren't in 7th or 8th, so no big loss there. So I'm pretty content with how things are.

I have a 7th Mix and an Extreme, and even a PIU around me, so I'm pretty content with that, but I would like to play some older mixes.

I wish you could custom make the song list, that would be the best mix ever!

Where I go there is a 5th mix and an extreme but the problem is every time I've gone since early this year there is a sign on the 5th mix saying it will be fixed it 2 weeks. almost 4 months later and ive not seen it working yet.

My opinion....um.....yeah....WAY too many Extremes. Every arcade has an extreme now, so instead of being in harmony, with players going to different arcades depending on what mix they want to play then, they compete with pricing, condition, crowds, and who's got the "OMGLOL UBERTOURNEY".

I think that Extreme is the best mix next to 4th plux, but the problem is that there are way too many of the damn things, so everyone's sick of them.

I mean, there's a Solo2000 near where I live, and I go to play it occasionally. It's an awesome mix definitely, and a great refresh from Extreme, but even so, you'll get bored if you just keep playing it over and over since it's somewhat limited compared to newer mixes. So, I think older mixes are a good alternative to complement the newer mixes.

Besides, the older mixes have better songs!

See, back in the day, every arcade upgrading to the newest mix was common enough, but even as we got bored of it we knew there was another mix coming. With Extreme, it's a good mix, but we've been playing it for over 2 years now. Nothing to look forward to anymore, so arcades upgrade all the way and have no choice but to stick with it.

DDREX is technically the best mix, going by song count, course count etc, but most DDR veterans seem to prefer DDR 4th+ for it's small but great selection of unique songs. I've not played 4th+ yet, so my personal favourite is 5th mix.
It's not neccessarily a bad thing that most places are getting extreme. After all, would you make a thread asking if you prefer Time Crisis 1 to TC3, and if it's a bad thing that arcades are getting the latest things?

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Amen to that, since the last 2 in my area were turned to extremes, theres 1 4th+ left for a quarter like a block away from me, so i guess that'll replace the 5th mix void i have inside me for now.

I'm content with my 7th Mix machine. An old arcade near me got a 5th Mix machine before they closed down. I played it a few times, and I honestly didn't see anything special.

Geeze, really, i'd be happy with any DDR mix, but i am sick of extreme being everywhere. 4+ was my favorite mix, and its now impossible to find frown.gif.
