does your lag? mine does, and i have tested it on 5 different computers. the lag is especially noticeable on fast songs. for example, i can a barely pass drop out with a C using the usb adapter but i can easily A it on a parallel port adapter. this is with judge difficulty 5.

yes, that adapter lags for me too. I had to set the judge difficulty down to 4 to get it to be about right. Many times it registers steps a few milliseconds too late and can really throw off your timing.

I'm using the thick foam pads that have the black control box with red led's, for refrence.

edit: had too change my to two a too

What kind of pad do you use with yours? Maybe it's just a certian type of pad.

i have tried 2 different type of ebay ignitions with the adapter. is it really possible that the pads instead of the adapter are causing the lag? like i said before, the parallel port adapter works great with no lag at all.

"Lag" is 40% opinion and 60% unset global offset.

Make sure you set your globaloffsetseconds properly. Play few songs in autosync and never save the info, then write down their offset. Once you think you've found your offset, edit stepmania.ini in the data/ folder and put that value in for globloffsetseconds.

Because of the fact that you are converting from PS2 -> USB and then into the computer, it adds a set lag.

yes, but globaloffsetseconds moves the arrows and the timing window, not just the timing window. Try playing with your globaloffsetseconds on with the sound muted and the lag will come back because you have to rely on the position of the arrows. For people that play solely on the beat of the arrows globaloffsetseconds does absolutely nothing.

I'm about to get one too! I'm scared. Hopefully the up+select+start trick works.
