No it is not sexy when people (girls or otherwise) play barefoot... because then we have to worry about some retard cutting their foot on the screws that they couldn't see... Which makes sense because the obviously couldn't see the sign that says "WEAR YOUR DAMN SHOES WHILE YOU PLAY!"

Then they bleed all over the pad, and walk off like they didn't notice their foot is f**king bleeding! Then the staff of the arcade has to get on Haz-mat gear and clean up the pad while everyone is waiting for their turn....

Or worse... They get a shin splint and decide to sue the arcade for not warning them to play with their shoes on or some sh*t....

So in conclusion... no shoes = no good for anyone.

Well speaking from personal experience (mine alone)....

I used to play on soft pads on carpet at home, barefoot... Got bad shin splints.

I Played in the arcade with 2 year old shoes. Same thing happened.

I got new, better shoes. Shin splints go away.

Like half a year later after practically stopping soft pad play all together, I try a few rounds again on soft pad, carpet, barefoot. Shin splints come back.

I've never suffered any injuries from DDR other than shin splints, and I only got these when I played barefoot. Obviously everyone is going to have different experiences, but these are my observations as such. I've even played 6 hour arcade sessions on heavy, and only had sore muscles the next day.

Food for thought I suppose, but I'd hardly say that DDR is damaging to the body if you are taking the proper precautions, and ive been playing in the arcade atleast 2 or 3 times a week for like a year and a half now. I've never been in better health.

yeah dont mean to sound rude but everynow and then some girls come on the machine playing on their toes hitting the screws instead of the arrows and say" oww that hurt" well put on some shoes if you ever plan on playing a game that you use your feet and is out in public just where some shoes. it is not cute it looks painful.

I don't know if it looks cute for them to play barefoot and tipy-toed, but I feel like it's uncomfortable. I think it's a no-no to play barefoot on an arcade pad because you're most likely to cut your feet on an indentation or on a bolt. And when you cut and bleed, then it doesn't look cute at all.

But when playing on a soft pad, then it's ok to play barefoot and girls look cute while playing that way.
