Okay.. My Cobalt Flux and My Super Dual Box from Lik-sang both arrived today. (What luck E13.gif.
After unpacking and admiring the pad, I hooked it up to my PS2 and played DDRMAX2USA with no problems at all; the pad worked like a charm.
I unpacked my Super Dual Box and hooked it up with a PS2 controller to my P3 with WinXP-Pro and it worked amazingly. I played Znes-Cybernator. I loved it. Then I tested my Naki Dance Pad that was in the dust for about a year, surprisingly the pad worked flawlessly in Stepmania (I'm using 3.92rc2a or whatever). Finally, I hooked up my new Cobalt Flux to it, and nothing happened at all, it didn't even register. I went and disabled the force feedback, installed the drivers did whatever I could think of and I couldn't get the Cobalt Flux to work for some reason. Everything else worked fine. It was like the Super Dual box didn't even recognize the flux. It was like a dead connection. I thought I damaged the Control Box while bringing it downstairs because I dropped it on tile, but when I brought it back upstairs afterword and hooked it back up to my PS2 it worked perfectly again... :S I'm very confused about this, I spent hours trying figure something out... I can't think of anything else, lol....

Any suggestions?

Did u hold start select and up for three seconds? Is automapping turned off? Did u try to map the buttons?

Hey I have a problem with the adapter shown above [or the adapter that is recommended use]:

I have played with this adapter before and it worked [for Stepmania]. Now, it does not recognizes any of the buttons I press on my Ignition pad [all three, two different companies]. Actually it does recognizes the pad but I cannot press it because shown on the Game Controllers Properties - all of the buttons are PRESSED [and analog is somewhere else other than center].

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling drivers [and restarting too] - nothing
I've tried different pads [same results] - nothing
I've tried unplug and plugging it in - nothing...
I've tried setting the settings in SM, it does not recognize any of the steps
[actually if I go to Test Input, all of the buttons are pressed!]

BTW I have Windows XP with 512MB [1.5 GHz P4], and 128MB Graphics card [which does not affect this adapter at all].

I am wondering what to do?

What service pack are you running? I can't say conclusively if this has anything to do with it, but I used that same adapter, and it wouldn't even register, wouldn't read as a device, all sorts of problems. I order the paralell--->PS2 adapter, and have the same sorts of problems.

Then I notice that a lot of people running service pack 2 are having a hell of a time. So...I uninstalled it, and they all work. It might have been something else, but I doubt it. Is anyone else running SP2 having a hard time?

I'm running on SPA2 but I highly doubt it's that. But I would never know. Plus I do not want to uninstall.

My boyfriend uses an EMS USB2 adapter with two Cobalt Flux pads on Windows XP SP2, and it works fine.

I have the super dual box and for some reason when I brought it to my buddy's house we couldn't get 2 player working on stepmania. We configured the steps and everything but when we were trying to play, stepping on a button either registered it twice or registered buttons on the other person's screen or hit the opposite button, just a bunch of random stuff. Can anybody help me fix this?

the up+start+select thingy can be done anytime. its ust a code that switches the adaptor into analog mode, so all the panels are buttons instead of trying to use a joystick.

I havent read all the way through the thread but i doubt anyone has posted about converting an XBOX pad to USB... Just cut the USB and XBOX controller plugs off of the pad and a USB divice (i used a mouse) and solder the matching wires together leaving the yellow one alone. then download the XBCD driver from lik-sang.com and install... will work with any XBOX controller or pad... works great with SM.

Alright. I've thumbed through here, and I've found my problem several times, but no one really left any information on a fix. After two nights of struggling with this, I'm at the end of my rope. Here's what I'm working with--

I have a BNS DX-Xtreme and the adapter that came with it. The BNS Adapter. I previously had every thing working out fantastically, but left DDR for the winter as things got very busy for me. I tried to bust it out again, and lo and behold, it no longer wishes to work.

When plugging the mat in to my PC, the mat is receiving power (the lights come on at the top) but the computer does not register that there is a controller connected- all of the indicators in the drivers are showing that no buttons are being pressed when I'm pressing them, etc. I'm using the NTPAD XP drivers and I'm running on Windows XP Service Pack 2. I have the drivers correctly configured, Disable Axes Mapping and all of that jazz- like I said, it previously worked just fine.

If I plug in a standard PS2 controller in to the adapter, it functions just fine within the drivers- it registers every button pressing, etc. I've tried the Start+Select+Up trick, despite not knowing if it was applicable, and it made no difference.

I -really- want to take up playing again, preferably without having to buy a new mat. I saw that people were having this problem before, but I couldn't find any in-depth answer/explanation on the subject. So, if anyone knows anything, can suggest anything, or can provide a surefire fix, I'd seriously appreciate it.

Thanks a lot-

Hello neighbor.

What's the BEST adaptor for PC stepmania. I only want to buy one. Are there any that you can just plug in and work? I'm tired of using the arrow keys. Oh if it matters I have the Extreme bundle mat and a redoctane ignition, those 100 buck ones. And I dont care about double. I need SINGLE PLAYER. yay.

sorry to interupt your subject too.

Doubt this has been said yet, but for the Xbox, if you dont feel like cutting apart the wires from the Pad, simply buy a cheap madcatz extension from ebay, or one from the store. Then, mode that wire, and connect the pad's wire through that. That way, you dont mess up your wire and get tricked out of a warrenty tongue.gif.
