It was after I played 3rd Mix in the arcades. I had gotten DDR USA for PS1 in 2001 but didn't really like the game much because of the songlist. In summer 2002, I was at the boardwalk and saw they had a DDR arcade machine (3rd Mix). It was my first time playing DDR in the arcades and after seeing that the non US DDR games had good songs that were not in the US version (Captain Jack, Dam Darriam, Butterfly, Operator, Mr. Wonderful, Turn Me On, Do It All Night etc.), I started getting interested in the game and later got Best Hits for PS1 and after that, I couldn't get enough DDR.

One day I came up the stairs of Regal cinemas SB 18 and I just saw it there.... And I tried it out.

i was too shy to even play right and one day a few friends of mine gathered to play and I started getting more confident and exploring more songs.... But now those friends of mine barely play now and I hang out with other ppl i have met that play in that theatre.

One of my best friends Sarah introduced the game to me.
She bought some cheap pads for a dollar each off Ebay & we played all night.

I believe theres already a topic on this, but what the heck...

When I was at camp with a few of my friends and others, we would goto arcades every once in a while. the one game they played all the time:DDR. Eventually my friends started playing and I felt left out. I asked my friend who has been playing for 2 years and he told me to get it and so thats how I started playing. Also wanted to show everyone that theres more songs than Break Down, Speed Over Beethover, and Hysteria....

First song I AAA was Days Go By on Max2, and Im still unsuccessful of getting a AAA on machine. I dont try to get AAA on anything below heavy cause I wanted to feel more accomplished. May not be the best way to go. The closest I got to AAA on machine was a full combo on Butterfly on challenge (got an A)

I guess I never really noticed the DDR machines until last October I was at the arcade and I had played almost every other game so I decided to try it. I didnt pass any songs but I thought it was fun so I bought the ps2 version. Now I play at home and at the arcade and I can even pass some songs!

The webcomic 10k Commotion. happy.gif;; I'd seen DDR in the arcades (I used to work at one) but I was too worried about making a Complete Fool of myself.

Now we play non-stop on our igition pads and I'm itching to get myself onto an arcade machine. biggrin.gif

When I started DDR.... it was my cousin who got me into it right. Her version was the 2nd mix from Japan. She asked me if I want to try it and I said "yeah sure". However, I didn't know what to do so I was stepping on the arrows like all over (that's what I thought I supposed to do) but I wasn't doing it right since there's that step zone (which I didn't know at first).

Then later on, I decided to practice on at least one song called "Boom Boom Dollar" or something like that and I started to get the hang of it finally.

When I had to leave... I wanted to get DDR but my mom didn't have time plus the stores had the pirated versions which my PS can't read. So I just waited until a few weeks later... I got the Konamix version. After a few days of playing... I started to get hooked on it. Although after my 1 semester exams... I stopped playing DDR and still right now it's March and yeah no DDR yet. frown.gif

June 2002, a friend of mine introduced me to Konamix, kept playing End of the Century, so i joined along with him, it was on beginner mode so it took me a while to keep up, but i managed. About 2 months after, i had to go on a trip to Mexico and thats where i started playing in arcades. I think it was 3rd korean that i played on, since i played Shock by Goofy.
