Since I found out I was pregnant I switched to playing with the hand controllers at home because I'm scared to play on my feet. I was just curious as to if anyone has played while pregnant before... Plus, I figured this would be an odd topic to post, and I love starting those. _________________

The fact that this makes you sad makes me sad.
Don't be sad. It means in about 4 years I get to start teaching someone whose legs aren't even long enough to reach two steps at once how to play, how cute will that be?!
Besides, I still get to play at home, and if I find other people that have done it I might start playing again (2 or 3 footers) before later in the pregnancy. _________________

This is a question for your doctor, not idiots on an internet message board
But given that gyms have aerobic classes for pregnant women, I can't see how DDR could be bad for you. |

No need to be rude. I wasn't asking "should I". But I'm not going to call my doctor up just to say "Can I play a vid game?" when I'm gonna see her in a few weeks. I just wanna know if anyone else ever played while pregnant, or if they talked to their doctors.
And yes, they have classes like that for women, but they make you bring a note from a doctor saying you can. It's different for some women than others. A woman who doesn't exercise shouldn't start during a pregnancy, for example. She should stick to easy workouts like walking and swimming if she does anything. Yet if (for example) an olympic runner got pregnant, she could keep running for exercise because her body is used to it, and it's actually better for her.
I know all of this stuff, but pregnant women tend to worry. And besides, I was just starting a conversation. _________________

Hahaha, is this a joke? If it is, your one funny person. If you are serious, then I feel bad for you.
1. You must be like 30 if you want to get pregnant.
2. You are 30 and you go on forums.
3. You are 30 and you play ddr. |

Any one can play regardless of age. My friend is 37 and he plays. Is there omething wrong with that?
I would probably stay on beginning a light at a nice BPM speed. You may not want to do standards or heavy since you might have to bounce a lot, make fast shifting movements and it might hurt the baby.
Ask your doctor. |

Let me get this straight... you thought MY response sounded "rude", but you were ok with "this thread makes me sad"??

That's so you can't sue them.

Asking how much physical activity you can partake in is perfectly legitimate... answering questions like that is part of the doctor's job. I don't understand why you'd be hesitant to ask. |

Ask your doctor first, but playing on begginer shouldn't be too bad...as long as there aren't a lot of jumps,
Also, you should hold head phones up to your belly and play DDR music, get the kid started early.

Congrats on the baby!
Definitely check with your doctor about doing cardio the next time you see him/her. If worse comes to worse you could always stick with Light songs, although that wouldn't be much fun. |

This girl is 20.. (i clicked her website link under her name).
I wouldn't reccomend playing anything above beginner. Seriously ASK YOUR DOCTOR. Its not that hard, its a phone number away. _________________

Tomo Kun: Thank you for clearing that up.
Brave Little Toaster: Cute name... Yes, I am only 20. You don't have to be 30 to get pregnant! I went to middle school with a 12 yr old who was pregnant, and I have known alot of pregnant 15-19 year olds since then. It happens ALOT now a days. For the record though, I got married before it happened, not after. And we weren't trying to get pregnant, we just did, and we are both very excited about it anyways!
DJ Sway: Thanks for the suggestion, I didn't think of that! And I actually have a dancing baby icon if you want it...
Slowpoke: Yes I did find it rude, no I didn't find his rude, and again- I'm not calling my doctor when I'll be in her office in a few weeks. She is far too busy for me to be asking questions that can wait until later. Why was your reply rude and his not? "This is a question for your doctor, not idiots on an internet message board."
Ghettoman: I didn't know it affected humans until it was too late
Nyanko: Thanks! And I was thinking the same thing, just a bit unsure.
DDR Seth:
Chibidjinn: I know 30+ year olds that play too, and thanks for the suggestion.
Latindude: I can't name a girl Maxx! Well, I could... But we don't know what we are having and we already have a name picked out for each sex, but thanks.
Gee, this many replies and I just posted this thing this morning! _________________

Pretty name, but I've promised my sister and mother I'd name baby after them if it's a girl. And my husband is stuck on the name he picked if it's a boy... _________________
