A True DDR problem...

Well...I rarely get the chance to roam out in about the places that DDR machines lurk, so I'm more of a home player. However, I am never satisfied with my dance pad, and every couple of months or so I have to start looking for a new one because the sensitivity on one of the arrows begins to lose it's pep. This is the second Ignition Pad I've gone through within about 5 months and I need something that's going to last longer and perform better. I desperately want a metal pad, but not sure about which one to get. I don't care all that much about the price as long as it doesn't exceed more than about $400. I've seen the Cobalt Flux and I've heard it's praise, but I know that I'm going to need a pad with a handle bar if I plan on finally getting to the level of mastery I want. Why do I need a handle bar...simple...whenever I play songs like Max 300, my balance tends to want to give out and then I fail...again....like always. I'm thinking then that a bar might be the solution to my problem, because I know my feet are fast enough, it's just a matter of staying up really.
But I should get to the freaking point already and I'm looking for an opinion on what type of platform/pad to get. If you believe you know the answer (which I hope you do) be sure to write it down right here, thank you very much.

P.S. - Do they make pads with any larger arrows because my feet are...oh...just a BIT too big and it can cost me some steps sometimes...

im not sure if this belongs in here, but ill reply.

i had a red octane that died just before warranty ran out, so im getting a new one real soon. it depends on how much you like feeling your way around the pad. because unless your building your own, its cf or ro. cfs are more expensive, but they last longer. but you lose some feel because its got a piece of plastic over the entire top of the bad, so you dont really know where your feet are. i could feel my way around my ro, but it obviously wasnt as durable. as for a bar, you could find one of those tx-1000 or whatever the hell theyre called with a bar. they generally tend to run like $100 more. my solution was building my own, that works just perfectly. i just need a bit more space around my pad. but i trained myself to stop using it because you develop way more stamina without one. do not become a slave to the bar, it took me 2 months to effectively get off of it, but now i only use it on the hard 10's(maxx, lom, psm, psmo). i dont think they make bigger arrows for bigger feet, but thats just an advantage to you. people with big feet need less effort to move theyre feet to the sensors(watch one of the videos of jsb from csa2 to get what i mean. he barely has to move. its really the best technique). as for your max 300 problem, i learned it with the bar. to do it barless i just watched jsb. stay low, a little hunched but not that hunched, and aim for the inside of the arrows, and dont bring your feet that high into the air. if your doing it right, you should occasionally brush the bracketing on top of the pad.

I have a TX-2000 (bar with pad) myself and it works grreat but that is just because i live in europe.. It seems that outside of europe the TX2000 pads are just awfall cause they tend to break within days/weeks/months..

Maybe you can buy one from playasia or lik-sang but thats kinda expensive, but it will last with durability i think..

Otherwise your choice will be buying an CF and building an bar arond (on) it.. Like putting it in an metal/wooden box and put the bar up on there..

What ever you do, don't buy a pad with a bar. Those bars are known to rip off or the whole pad will capsize. Buy a cobalt flux, and use a chair as a bar.

Anywhoo, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't CF make bars to attach to CF's? That would be your best bet. Right now I have two Ignitions and use a smoke ventilator to use as a bar.

Since you said you have the money, just buy a Cobalt Flux. There's no competition. Just go buy one. You can build a bar for it later or just use a chair. Or even better, just practice so that you don't need it.
Buy a CF. Other pads will eventually break down and die. A CF can last forever.
