I like the log-in thing on the home page. It shows your avatar. Very cool. Thanks DDRFreak staff!

Great job.

It does if you have a green foot E10.gif

But yeah. I had some log in problems when it was reimplimented. I have it on auto log-in, but the other day I was logged out. So I tried to log in (I have FF set to save pw's) and it said I either had an invalid username or pw. So I clicked "forgot my pw" and it said my email address wasn't the one in the database. I had Cutriss reset my password, and was able to log in (but only if I copy+pasted my s/n from the profile screen). THEN, when I tried to change my pw back, it said the pw wasn't in the database. I ended up having to use the FIRST pw (the one that it said wasn't valid) to change it O_o

Yeah.. needless to say I got it working again.. but sheesh what a pain in the ass it was.

That didn't have anything to do with my login system, though. That had to do with a separate cookie change, and, IN MY OPINION, a lack of cooperation between Firefox's stored password system and the phpBB password change system. E10.gif

The front page looks so ugly now when I view it, what with my eye-peircing avatar and all.

you know, i havent been to the homepage in the longest time. i have the /phpBB2/index.php memorized better than my own name. that and its always there so i go directly to forums.
kind of freaky seeing my avatar there. whats the point of having it there? so you can see the little logout icon better?

I think it's cool. I was wondering why it said that I couldn't log on last time (I also have mine on auto-log on). FF saved my password, so I just kept on doing it over and over and eventually it worked, so yay!

Sexy shit Cutriss! :]

Previously, some sections of the site like Machine Locations required you to punch in your DDR Freak username/password in order to submit information. Now that your login persists across the entire site, you don't need to do that anymore.

Right around when I noticed the avatar on the homepage, the overall theme of the forums got really messed up, and still is. Was this intentional or is my Firefox being a slut? If it is, I could take a screenshot and post it. It's all blue and silver now, kind of like before but a lot lighter, and the frame template seems to be repeating or something...

Sounds like you're having other issues. Does this happen in IE?

For the record, I've been using Firefox exclusively for months now, and I've not seen any change in the forums at all.

So, sure. I'd like to see what's going on. Also, what version are you using, and what OS?

Hmm.. it's wierd, it's fixed now. I had just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox, running XP Home.

Now that I think about it, I just deactivated some extensions I had running, maybe one of them had something to do with it.

OH but I don't know if this happens to all of you, but for me the shades emoticon (when you type : shades : ) has been replaced with the PM symbol you see at the bottom (with AIM and YIM and whatever), and where the Profile button usually is has been replaced with a second YIM logo (but still takes me to their profile), and there's no PM logo. Ok that's really confusing, here's a screenshot. Then just whenever there's supposed to be E7.gif, I see the PM thing with two little people.

If it did happen to us all, we'd be in quite the hurry to fix it.

I think you need to start doing some extensions diagnosis. I see that your Quote button says Profile instead. Do they link to the proper things?

Oh, I didn't catch that one. Yes, all the Profile, PM, et cetera logos link to what they should. Even the PM logo that has replaced the E7.gif still links to type : shades : when I click it.

I'll check out the extensions, disabling one by one until it's fixed. Some of the images at the top of the screen (You have no new messages, Logout, etc) are distorted.

Note: DDRfreak is the only website I go to that is doing this, and I browse 3-4 forums regularly.
