Um.. NO! Did you even bother to read the rest of my post?! I want the announcer to say things every other time but when I AM ACTUALLY PLAYING, you know, WHEN THE ARROWS MOVE TO THE TOP OF THE SCREEN!

Do you get it?

So my girlfriend got some pads and an adapter (the links to them are in my other post in the adapter forum), and she's have a problem with freezes. Such that, if one arrow is to be held, and then another arrow is pushed, it will sometimes over-ride the freeze she has going. She says it doesn't do this all the time, just most of the time. Any ideas what it could be?

Hi. I'm interested in editing my metrics file; i.e. go straight from the main menu to select a difficulty. I found in metrics.ini how to change the NextScreen variable, but was unable to locate the default variable. I'd like it to default to solo mode. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There isn't really a "default" variable, per se, but you can change which style is in which position under the [ScreenSelectStyle] section. Like, for example, since you're wanting it to "default" to Solo, you'd put it in the first slot like thus:

Choice1=Style,solo;name,solo

Don't forget to rename the appropriate files in your Graphics folder, though. Otherwise, it may be Solo, but it'll still look like Single on the screen.

Hey, I have a little problem. when i load stepmana everything goes fine until i choose my song and then start. it says first stage, then closes and says theres an error.

The error is that it cant load something like; stepmania/note skins/dance/default/LeftHoldBodyActive.

When i try to open the folder manualy it just freezes. It seems to be corrupt or somehitng. Anoyone know what i should do??

i've been going to this site for years but this is my first ever post, so be nice.

i had stepmania for years, it worked perfectly, never had a problem. yesterday i reinstall windows and now theres a issue. the screen constantly shakes from left to right. the entire image isnt movign just parts of it, creating a bluring effect. anyways i've reinstalled stepmania to no avail, and also reinstalled my video card drivers. i'm sorry if someone else already asked this, i read through the first 4 pages but wasnt willing to go through all 19.

I don't know if this was answered before, but some of my songs don't match up with the steps very well. What do I have to change in the dwi's to fix that?

I fixed the songs by moving the steps down one. I had to change the music to steps match-up a little bit too. BTW, what is the gap? I saw it in the dwi file and I didn't understand it.

And I have another question. I have the song STARS (2nd NAOKI's style) on my SM. Before it wouldn't show the stars in the title or e with the dots over it and the backwards r in TERRA. After an hour, I fixed the stars problem by going into the translation file and adding it in. I also added in the TERRA fix, but that wouldn't work. I don't know why it's not working; I followed the other ones in the translation file. Can someone help me?
