DDR - Nerdy?

I consider 'freestyling' more nerdy than just playing the game. Maybe nerdy isn't the word I'm looking for.

DDR isn't nerdy. At least not in a bad way.

i can see a couple of people here in denial. ddr is definitely nerdy/geeky.

You impress people with your amazing physical abilities to move your legs that fast in that way, and grow large crowds around you to want to see your performance. If DDR is nerdy because some people play it too much... we could call all those great basketball/whatever sport players nerdy too because they spend WAY too much time playing.

Anyone who thinks DDR isn't nerdy... you need to get out of denial.

DDR is just plain nerdy. It doesn't matter if people watch you while you play sometimes. The fact of the matter is, a pretty significant percentage of them are making fun of you, and only a couple really want to be like you.

If you think DDR is cool, you're playing it for the wrong reasons. It's certainly fun, but it is definately nerdy. You gotta be dense to think otherwise.

i don't think it makes you nerdy but the game attracts the type of people which have a "nerd" stereotype look, imo

It is nerdy...it's a poppy Japanese video game that involves stepping on arrows...it's very nerdy.

But what I've found is that the only people who hate it are the people who can't play worth a damn. That's why football players and other athletes at my school sometimes play it...cause most people who can play it will.

Basically yes it's nerdy, but who craes.

Is DDR foolish - NO. - You excersise and get popular.

Is DDR inept - NO. - You learn about music and gain appriciation for it, you learn to read arrows with your brain, and you develope hand-eye corrdination.

Is DDR unattractive - NO. - You , or at least I, get big crowds.

Overall - DDR is not nerdy.

Thoughts: Maybe some of you people are computer nerds, that's why you post so much, and you are nerdy, but DDR is the opposite. You guys must be crazy. Why do you even talk on these posts if you think it is nerdy? Huh nerds? (note: that nerds is reffering to the computer nerds who post all day)

You can become popular in a way.

Lets say your at a party, you play DDR, everyone is like

so then they go back to school and they're like "LIEK! OMG!!! THAT KID IS SO AWESOME AT THAT DANCING GAME!" and so then sooner or later your the dancing game kid and its all good

I think people want it to be nerdy more so than it actually is nerdy.

I've seen all types of people play DDR: thugs, wannabethugs, old folks, lil kids, lil ghetto kids, hoochie mamas... none of them having a lick of nerd in them. I may be a nerd, but I'm a sexy nerd.

Perhaps DDR itself isn't nerdy, but the actions some people take because of DDR can be quite nerdy. For example, mourning the loss of a crappy pizza place because they had a DDR machine. Just do a search in the Mid-Atlantic thread for Say Cheese if you want to see what I mean.
