Dumb question abut Swap magic 3.0 (CD VER)

Ok, ive had my extreme JP for a while now and i think it's time to get a new mix. I was looking into party collection because of it's songs, price, and availability(I was originally looking into the 7th mix which keeps mysteriously appearing as "Out of Print" one day and "Usually ships in 24 hrs" on playasia)

So... Ive never used my swap magic CD version and I want to know if it's the same as the DVD ver. Also are there any problems/glitches with it and party collection?
