This is not about console games... it's about fitness tracking devices. I'm going to unlock this. _________________

Absolutely not. It makes ridiculous assumptions not only about the movement the individual engages in while playing ddr, but assumptions of their weight, resting metabolism, and almost every other medically unique aspect of them. To explain further, a fat person will burn more calories, all other factors constant, than a light person, because they are moving more total weight. To elaborate, experienced players will often times exert less energy on a 10 footer than new players will exert on a light song (People often comment about how effortless the way I play 10 footers looks, which to a certain extent is true.)
In otherwords its basically useless.
And maybe if the people in this community spent more time answering legitimate questions as opposed to bickering over whether or not the original poster displayed astute decision-making capability when he chose 1 out of 40 different forums to post his query in people would make fun of this forum less. |

Not to be rude to anyone, but I actually agree with this statement. This seems to be a trend in a lot of threads. |

To be fair, workout mode does ask you your weight. It does, however, as JSB said, assume metabolism, fat content, efficiency of motion, what kind of pad you're playing on, the temperature in the room, etc. _________________

It's a very rough calculation based on how much the steps and speed in a song. It's extremely inaccurate, mainly because to adequately measure calorie burn you need to account for weight, height, body structure, and heartbeat. |

I'm wondering why people complained about workout mode in Extreme(US) when it doesn't work anyway.
I'm loving this new thing of JSB posting about things. He makes good points too. _________________

Define 'work'; it inaccurately tracks calories burned per song just like every other newer console version. |
