Yes, but I HIGHLY suggest not to get transparent cases right now due to the fact that they are the same quality as the tops of cd cases. There is a company producing transparent cases with the same material as the official Sony case, but right now there are no plans to build fliptop cases.
PS2 Games come in CDs and DVDs, so to boot a CD game, you use the cd swap disc, and DVD games use the dvd boot disc. And there is a very small number of games that wont work right with the swap magics, 90% of games will work. All the DDRs do, so you should be fine. _________________

I heard all that bs about it working with everything, and I know from experience it doesn't. Once you pay $60 for one of those '10%' that doesn't work, you'll wish you had an import ps2. If you plan on playing import ps1 games you'll still need something else to get them to work. Swap Magic is for PS2 games only.
You're better off getting an import PS2 IMHO.

Guitar freaks 4th mix/ drummania 3rd mix.
I was thinking of getting DDR extreme, and my guess is that one won't work either. I'll have to try it out when i do get it.

Um, DDR EXTREME definately does work with Swap Magic discs. In fact, I can tell you that my Fliptop modded original design PS2 will play all the Japanese PS2 DDR games, MAX through Festival, with the Swap Magic discs without a hitch. And there are many a happy DDR player on these forums for that very reason. Trust me, you will NOT be disapointed with the investment. _________________

It's good to hear that it works for the PS2 DDR games, but for those of us who like other games like GuitarFreaks 4th mix/Drummania 3rd mix, it was a complete waste of money. Now, if someone could tell me a way to get GF4/DM3 to work with the fliptop, I would be most grateful.

PS2cover.com
PS2fliptop.com
Or
Somewhere else (specify)
Thank you for your help (if anyone actually gives any this time). |
Well I ordered a Fliptop back on the 22nd of January from PS2Cover.com today is the 17th of February and it's still not here. So I wouldn't reccomend purchasing one from them. |

That looks just like the ones on PS2cover.com. It even looks like it already has the white disk and the memory card doors on it. Or maybe they just put them in the picture. It costs the same and they are supose to be based in the USA. Ps2cover.com hasn't replied to any of my e-mails either. Stay away from them.
EDIT: February 18th. Still no Fliptop. Sent an e-mail on the 16th and still haven't got a reply. Begining to think I got ripped off. |

The only reason I reccomended ps2cover is because I've read a lot of horror stories about fliptops screwing your ps2, and the one I got from them has been in use for over a year now. Paulpk yours will probably come in about March? That's the only bad thing about them, since there direct from hongkong they get held up in Canada customs(mine was)
Go ahead and try the ps2fliptop.net cover and bring some pictures and info. That plastic looks shiny though, not sure if it's a good or bad thing. My ps2cover fliptop uses what seems like the same material as the official ps2 case and its pretty sturdy. _________________

I think the FAQ should be updated with a note that says the shipping takes forever. It's good to hear that the cover will actually last whenever it comes though. Thanks for the reply I was begining to think maybe the USPS lost the package. I got a rebate check the other day from October 2004. Needless to say it was no good. |

And how does that work me being one of the ones with a really old PSX? Also, when I put the arcade disc in and go down to "DISC CHANGE" I click it and take out the arcade disc and put the append in and it recognizes it and then I can put the Arcade disc back in and run it fine...Wouldn't I be albe to play appends? _________________

Take your spring in the back and lift it up then put it back into the hole. The disk should start spinning now. Once it starts spinning at 2x speed quickly flip it out with your append. Your append should start to load now. |
...That made no sence to me. PM me if you want to give me more detailed instructions. _________________

DDRNemesis it won't work. I might have a solution for playing PAL games on NTSC tvs without a converter but I won't be able to check if it works until tonight or tomorrow. _________________

Hi, I have DDR 4th Mix imported from Japan, but I also have Dancing Stage Party Edition, since I live in Europe. Both the games have the song "Higher" on it. On my Europe edition, it's no problem playing it. The 4th mix however, is off-beat. How can this be? And it's with all the songs, they're all off-beat. Does anyone know how to fix this? |
