sounds like what you're really asking for is just a mix with a higher difficulty, which will never happen, since less than half of all copies are bought by newbs. Yes, some of them annoy me too, but you must remember, we are the minority. The majority of consumers don't know anything about the japanese tracks, and if anything, it repels them. |

IMO, you must lead a wonderful life that you base the decision on where you live by whether or not an arcade game is there.
JUST MOD CHIP YOUR PS2, ITS NOT THAT HARD. Also, you may want to look here: http://www.stepmania.com There, problem solved. |

I agree that the American Pop songs suck in DDR, but they're there for a reason. It's so people can see artists that they've actually heard of, which makes them more likely to buy the game. Us getting cool songs like Afronova, Xenon, A, and 321 Stars is just trying to please the hardcore players, and keep us happier. They really could just screw us, and make the game for general public. Sure it blows that DDR is just a party game in the US to Konami, but at least it's something.
And Konami is being kind enough by letting us have DDR Machines in the US. They could pursue legal action, but they don't. That enough makes me happy.
Although, I do think it was a sham not to include Sakura in ExUS. That song is freaking awesome, and a KO, Konami had no reason not to. _________________

Actually, the PS2 is one of the more difficult consoles to mod. _________________

How do you know DDR with Mario is gonna be kiddy, or aimed at a younger audience?
I tcould be just like a normal DDR game, but instead of the usual licenses, it'll go with mario and other Nintendo music. Which I think is a good idea.
Or even if it is mainly Nintendo stuff, does that mean it's aimed at kids? I heard there may be kids music, but just look at Saint Goes Marching. That turned out great.
Plus, if the Japanese version is too easy, or kiddey, remember what happened with Disney Mix over here: it got harder. Still not too tough, but harder.
And yes, I know it's not confirmed over here. _________________

PS2 is one of the easiest to mod.. you don't even have to open it up. You can get a fliptop for $35 with Swap Magic and install it with only a screwdriver in about a minute. |

Its sad, but the reason why they did that was because of copywrite reasons. They couldn't get in Max., Bag, and a bunch of others, so they used crappy filler. |

.......Get your facts straight before you reply. They could put them in if they feel like it. Those are all konami originals, and the same branch of konami makes the DDR JP AND US series. It's more expensive to put Like a Virgin and Believe in then it is to put ni MAx. and Bag. God, people who don't have a clue what they're talking about and try to pass it off as truth piss me off. |

Personally, I'd be REALLY mad if they wasted my one-ten-footer-a-game things on Bag. Sure, it's cool, but not worth it.
Let's think here. Konami releases a mix with EVERY 10 footer and EVERY popular song onto one mix. Now, everyone good plays that mix. Guess what, they won't buy another one and DDR goes to hell. Personally, I'd rather be patient.

Because GCN is a kiddy system, and it's Mario... What do you expect?

Enough about Extreme US! Everybody knows about the lack of Dance Play, the English songs, and the changed graphics. Trust me, there are some DDR games that are worse than this one, like the original DDR USA. [/rant]

They're covers, by the way. They're cheaper than, say, licensing songs from Dancemania. (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) You still have a point, they could (and should) have put in some of the good songs from Extreme, like Dance Dance Revolution (The song), Last Message, and TwinBee ~Generation X~. |

Proof? Oh because it has Mario? Riiiight.

So you don't want to have the thread get out of hand, but then you make a comment that will do nothing but make it get more out of hand. You lose, stop posting comments like this.

Oh, sad. Super Orange already told you that you were wrong. Those songs are Konami Originals. They don't have to spend any money to get put them in a game. DDR Konamix is ALL Konami Originals. It was cheap for them to make because they didn't have to spend any money on licensing. Then they could take the profit and put it towards the next game, which had licensing.

Yeah, all those Resident Evils sure are kiddy. Especially in Resident Evil 4 when the guy takes the chainsaw and cuts off Leon's head. Or when you can look up when Ashley is standing above you to try to look up her skirt. She'll call you a pervert. That's SO KIDDY.
Oh, and Splinter Cell. Yeah that's kiddy. _________________

I dont get it. If you wanted to play Max period or Sakura
why not just download stepmania which is free
get a CF which is like 300
or spend even less an get a red Octain for like 85
and get the USB adaptor for about 15
instead of paying for a new system, new game, and a CF.
IDK just makes more sense to me _________________
