I got my Ignition pad for Christmas and I am very happy with how it is working so far. Only problem is the right arrow doesn't register sometimes, which is probably because of the time I was practicing the spins on EoTC and accidentally stomped the black circuit board thing. Hasn't worked right since then...well, now that i feel like an idiot is there any way I can fix it?

Does anybody know how long this pad usually lasts? I'm thinking of getting a pair of them and I want to make sure they are worth the hundred dollars a piece.

While playing UM2, I noticed that if I stepped on Down while my other foot was on Left or Right, Down wouldn't register. What can I do?

ok i have an update to my pad's problem. I'm having the "down arrow doesn't respond when one of the side buttons are used" issue. They had this problem ever since they arrived.

I went to redoctane's web page and signed up to return my pads. I'm waiting for the postage to arrive before I send them back for new ones.

Although it may not be completely related to the topic, I have found that needled computer-chair-mats work great for almost-to-entirely removing DDR pad slippage on carpet.
This does not work for smooth-bottomed cheap pads, only non-slip ones that do anyway.

I bought a Red Octane Ignition 2.0 pad. Every song I played, Light or Heavy, on Ultramix 2, I'd get Ds on. It didn't seem to respond well. I tried it on my USB/PS2 converter (which was confirmed to work with my friend's Ignition 2.0) and the pad would not function at all.

So, I sent a request to return it about a month ago. Still no pre-paid return label. I've just sent them an email about this. I've been hearing bad things about Red Octane lately, and I'm seriously considering just canceling my exchange and just asking for my money back, and then using it towards a cobalt flux.

Ultramix 2 and my pad and my converter have been sitting here uselessly for the past few months collecting dust. <<

I've heard from other people that Igniton 2.0s generally don't work very well with Ultramix. I'm really not sure why. My only guess, based on nothing more than my own suspicions, is that the Ignition was originally designed as a PS/PS2 controller and the Xbox support was hastily and clumsily added with little or no testing.

I've had my ignition for over a year. Longer then what most people here seem to have. It worked perfectly, except it did slide a little bit, so I put sticky stuff on the bottom to prevent that. But now there's a bigger problem. The up arrow is not as responsive as it used to be. The arrows were all getting torn up so I duct taped them, but I looked under the up arrow and the sensor-plastic stuff is ripped up a little bit. D'OH. Is there any way to fix this or do I need a new pad?

For some reason RedOctane decreased the quality of their pad immensly. About 1 3/4 years ago I purchased my first ignition 2.0 pad. It was great. For the most part, still works today (Has a little bit of reinforcement here and there, but it works still). But back sthen it wasn't crammed into the smallest box they could possibly get. The pad was pretty loosely folded into thirds, didn't have 6 foam inserts, just 3, and the arrows didn't die. The things they have now are nothing short of a POS version that shouldn't exist. I must say, my love affair with RedOctane came to a screeching halt last night when my right arrow started triggering whenever it pleased.

I got the new pad for christmas and it the down arrow stopped responding. So I got a replacement and it worked fine for about 2 weeks. Then the right arrow went crazy. I'm askiong for a refund and am going to try and find a better pad somewhere.

Long story short, Don't buy a RedOctane ignition pad unless they start making them like they used to (ha, yeah right). Otherwise, you'll be in a world of pain.

Well mine lasted exactly 4 uses. Maybe 3 hours combined. the down arrow got very hard to use. im sure within a few days it would have completely stopped working. I exchanged it and have used the new one once so far, so far so good.

i bought my at EB, they offer an extended 1 year warranty for only $10. for one year, i can bring that pad in no matter what and get a brand new one. i dont know how they make money on that , but it works for me! at the end of 1 year i can renew it for another $10. I can hypothetically use this pad forever just renewing the warranty every year.

great deall, but im not convinced this pad is high quality.

i was just using my RO pad yesterday and it was just working out fine. just today, i found out i cant hit any buttons. when i checked the wires, it seems that theres an opening. what should i do? i cant return or exchange it because i bought it months ago. :__(

Well I've had this pad (RO) for about one month and it started out great. I could get AA's and the pad would work great. Recently, it hasn't been registering. I am FAILING songs that I usually A, and I KNOW I am hitting the arrows, but yet, it gives me a boo. Also, when I am on the main menu, it goes down all the options by itself. I wouldn't recommend this pad.

One thing I think becomes a problem is when you have to scrunch that pad into that rectangular box. I can't be good for the pad to be bent like that consistenly.

I just made the easiest ignition mod the world over that actually works. It's simple get a roll of grip strip, (latex-ish peg board like material) you can find it at any hardware store with their contact paper for shelving. I got a 12in by 5ft roll for $2.64. cut the roll in half so you have two 2.5 ft strips. open your pad up, take out the foam. Lay the strips so you cover towards the edges of the inside oft he bottom of the pad, replace the foam, MAKE SURE THE FOAM AND THE PAD ARE FLAT!!! Zip it back up and you have a new sturdy pad.
I did this today with my RO ignition pad, the up arrow kept being stuck on. Now it performs better than when I got it new. It's more responsive feels better and barely moves around at all. I played for three and a half hours no problems at all.
