The best way to see what's going on is to open window's control panel, go into game controllers, and you should see your 2 units there (if you have 2 pads plugged), go into properties and see if window detects your arrows as buttons (arrows will always be detected as X-Y axis, too, you just don't wanna use that). If they don't, then the code hasn't worked properly.
If they do light up as buttons, and Stepmania still doesn't let you push up+down or left+right, you probably just need to remap your Stepmania controls, go through the menus again, and set your buttons. When you push an arrow, Stepmania should register it as Controller 1 Button 1/2/3/4 etc. instead of Controller 1 Left.
Hope that helps! |
well i went to control panel with one pad and i tested it and theyre showing up on the d-pad. I tried the code(just at my desktop?) and i didnt work. I went to test it at stepmania also and its showing controller 1 left, not button like u said it should. So i dunno what i have to do....
!!! NEED HELP! !!!

Mwahahahaa @ n00bs
He didn't even supply what kind of adaptor brand it was. All he said was "i have the grey model, with blue connectors". I mean, I can PAINT my adaptor those colors and say i have the same as his.
EDIT: I noticed that he did in fact edit his post, so Im guessing he found the button, so I'm also guessing he posted the "." posts just to get attention to his problem. |
o well the name of the adaptor was in the replys subject, but since you cant read it, its an EMS DUAL SHOOTER
and second, yes i thought i could delete posts but in fact no, so i just put all i wrote in the same message |

I just purchased a Super Dual Box USB to PS2 Converter (the one that was highly reccomended and confirmed to work ).
I installed everything properly, with all the drivers installed (since I have Windows 98).
When I play Stepmania, first of all, the steps aren't that responsive. It takes like 1/2 a second before it responds which is making my DDR skills worse.
Also, the down button does not register on my pad. It works for Playstation 2 though. Please help, thanks!
PS~ Double Steps don't work either!! In stepmania, when I go to Test Input, Up-Right works... but Up-Left and Left-Right don't work. As I said the thing doesn't even recognize the Down arrows.
I thought the Super Dual Box was supposed to be good! And yes, I am sure I got the correct Super Dual Box (I'll even show ya a picture if you don't believe me)
!!!! UPDATE!!!!
I just tried playing Stepmania with a Playstation 2 controller. Everything works, including Down, and the Double Steps. Also the timing is correct.
Hmmm... could it be something wrong with my pad. It works fine with PS2. By the way, it's the Konami Pad that came in the DDRMax2 Bundle. Anyone, please? Thanks! |

I own a Super Dual Box, and I noticed no problems with the adaptor. Except if you want left+right or up+down to register, you have to enter the pad's code: pushing "start+select+up" for 3 seconds. Then those arrow combos will work. I'm guessing its your pad thats causing the troubles if a regular PS2 controller works fine with the adaptor. |

Yes, from the first page of this stick, I read about the code. I tried it numerous times and it still did not work. So far, I'm believing my Pad does not support the USB/PS2 adapter since the PS2 Dualshock2 Controller works fine with the Super Dual Box adapter.
Anyone have success with the Konami Soft Pad (that comes with the DDR bundle)?
Thanks! |

I am having a bit of a delema w/ my DrumMania as well as my DDR mats w/ the super dual box...
I don't know if it's my computer, or the box itself.
When i try to play DrumMania hooked through the device, only about 1 in 4 hits actually register.
When i hook up the lighted DDR mats, if i tap a button REALLY quickly, i can get the lights on the pad to go on, but have it not register to the computer.
This leads me to beleive the button needs to be held down for a slight amount of time for it to register through the box and into my computer. Because of this, it makes DrumMania impossible to work correctly, and while StepMania works allright, when it comes to maniac steps and machine gun steps and the like, it gets difficult when it comes to actually registering.
Does anyone else have this issue? Should I get a different box? Could it be my computer and the USB controllers? I have tryed w/ both the supplied driver disc and without them, w/ no change in the results.
Any help would be appreciated.

Found some BOOM PS Joy Adapters on Ebay - the only ones I know for sure that work flawlessly in hooking up Cobalt Flux Pads to Stepmania with absolutely no lag - These also work with just about any other pad and they don't require a code. Just plug and play. Got mine from icewolf20...not sure if he has any left now or where else you may find them, but I figured I'd let everyone know that this is the silver bullet to the problem that those of us were having with CF timing issues with converters. |

hello all . ok heres my problem. i was stupid enough to buy a pad that has LED lights on it. from what i understand most adapters dont accept these pads because they draw too much power. What adapters will work with pads that have LED lights? thnx |

Posted on page 10.
Anyway, I was going to get a CFlux (adaptor too...) but thing is, my computer is 2 years old. Would it still run with the pad fine? (I can run stepmania, except for when I load it the sound becomes VERY fuzzed up...but it goes away after 5 minutes. I've only gotten this when I downloaded the new version of Stepmania.) I'll give system specs here..
Windows ME
Intel Pentium III
126 MB RAM
Direct X 0.9
Intel? 82815 Graphics Controller
SoundMAX Direct Sound Driver
Yeah, i know it sucks. >.> |
Just reposting this, I would like if someone had an answer...sorry for being impatient. |

I'm using an EMS 2, and it won't detect my DDR pads. It detected a controller fine, but it can't see either of the two pads I bought. I'm using the 2.2 driver from hkems.com and these pads. This is my first time with this kind of adaptor and putting together DDR pads (I just put in the foam). Did anyone else have this problem?
And sorry for creating a seperate thread for this before.

It seems that this thread is full of questions, but lacking answers. I saw about 2 straight pages of just questions without a single reply... this is getting sad. |
