Okay, so I have the standard pad that came with Ultramix 2, but it’s duct-taped to a sheet of plywood.

Well, now that I’ve started to do harder songs, with lots of jumps (my problems happen mostly on corner jumps), I’m getting far too many boos. I know I’m hitting them right because I had my friend watch my feet during one of those sections of jumps, and he said I hit them all, but I still got boos on half of them. Either they aren’t registering, or the pad is sliding.

Any solutions besides buying a metal pad (I won’t be able to get one of those ’till my birthday)?

The Ultramix series has notoriously stringent timing judgment on jumps - you have to time your jumps so that your feet come down as close to the same moment as possible - otherwise it won't count.

I wouldn't spend so much money buying a metal pad. Build a metal one. Its easy, there's a whole thread on it. Or you could just mod your pad. There's a guide on it, it will help with the pad sliding. Since your pad is already taped to plywood, all you have to do is staple hardwood floor covering over it. Easy.
