Bah, on Saturday I was trying to play, but this stupid woman kept letting her two year old kid walk around on the other pad. I was playing "A" on x3, and when I got to the speed up, her kid walked in front of me and I accidently knocked him over. Then the woman proceeds to start spazzing out on me about how I should have been more careful. I just kept wanting to yell out "frick off!". She's telling me to be more careful? Don't let your damn kid walk around on the pad next to me!

I still don't get this... if there are 3 quarters ahead of you in the coin line, why does the skill level of the quarters' owners matter? You're going to be 4th up regardless of whether the people in front of you are playing PSMO or Butterfly Light. I hope this isn't an argument that some people aren't worthy of playing.

very well said slowpoke. it doesn't matter whether the person before you is very skilled or not. it's not like people own the machine anyways, and since it's in a public place anyone can play, methinks.

why can't we just be a bunch of happy dancing fools?

We are happy dancing fools!

And besides ugly retarded 40-year-old moms with no signatures at all coming from the mass of oatmeal they call a brain are letting their stupid little kids walk on the pads.

Hey lasty time that happened to me I wasn't playing and I just let him for a little while since he got bored after like 5 seconds anyways and left. And that was that. Parents were smart enough around here to keep them off while playing.

Somewhere in which I can vent my anger! Thank you lord! ; ;

Situation #1
My girlfriend was playing DDR at our local mall one day, and I wasn't present at the time, as I took a walk over to the food court to refil our soda. Some random person comes up behind her while she's playing and says "You know, this song is so easy." He continues to mock her while she plays, as he sits on the Crazy Taxi machine that is right next to the DDR Machine. Her, becoming frusterated after her set is over, calls me up and tells me to hurry up. She lets the guy who was mocking her on. And in fact, he was better than her. I show up, and I see that he's attempting to play Sakura on Challenge. I just sat there and smiled as he gradually failed. After he finally *did* fail, I jumped on and first freestyled my first three songs, then proceeded to get a B on Sakura Challenge. I stepped over to him holding my girlfriends hand and said "You know, that song is easy." Smiled politley, and walked away. happy.gif

Situation #2
I forgot to bring my marker with me one day while I went out to play DDR, so I was stuck using a token. I was the only one at the machine, so I was just wearing myself out to the point of panting. Well, I stopped and sat down on the Crazy Taxi machine to drink some Cherry Coke, when all of a sudden some little kids run up and steal all of the tokens I had on the side of the machine. >_<; So I chase them down, and their mother yells at me for "Trying to take the tokens that her kid found." After I tried to tell her that they were my tokens in the first place, she wouldn't have it, and she tried to call the manager of our Arcade. I got kicked out of the freakin' arcade for trying to NOT get ripped off. I did get my tokens back at least...But I couldn't believe they kicked me out.

Situation #3
So I was at the arcade again, and I walked in to see a couple of people WRITING THEIR NAMES ON THE MACHINE in a freaking Sharpie marker. I got pretty angry, and didn't even bother to call anyone. I just walked up as they were writing it, grabbed the windex from behind the ticket counter, and started wiping it off after they wrote something. They got angry, tried to hit me with the marker as they walked out, and cursed at me. In general, I got a good damn look at them. So I went back over to the ticket counter, picked up the phone and called Mall security on them. Seen the same dumbass kids walk by while I was talking to the security officer. XD He kicked them both out.

I have some more, but work calls. -.-;

Wow... I hadn't realized this sort of thing happened at DDR arcades. I guess the reason I don't get these problems is because the arcade I use is on a university campus (I attend Washington State University). You don't really see five-year-old kids, angry moms, or immature DDR players on universities; just a bunch of college students enjoying some good ol' DDR.

Oh, and don't forget the girls. Hot girls. Gotta love it. biggrin.gif When I get a good crowd of ladies for an audience, that's when I start playing for show. I'm not exceedingly good (can't pass 10-footers beyond Sakura, bag, and Max300), but I know what songs look impressive. Can't Stop Falling In Love (speed mix), Exotic Ethnic, and Afronova are three of my favorite ones to use.

Gotta love the ladies.

So, in your contribution, hot girls, playing DDR at a university, and your three favorites songs anger you?

The top things that really anger me, that HAVE happened!

1. Whenever someone begins a convo, and no matter how many times you tell them to shut up, they don't!

2. Then there are the ones who call DDR retarded, then once you get off the bloody thing they jump up there and it's apparent they play it ALOT more than you do!

3. When you're having a convo, while your grades come up, then when you pick the song and get pack on the pad they raise the difficulty without your noticing. (New to the pad...)

4. When a group of people get on one side and just randomly jump up and down on the arrows!!! (Yes, I have seen this happen)

Before I'd let any video game anger me... I'd stop playing.

But in any event, the only annoying things that pop to mind are:

1- People who obstruct gameplay in any way, whether that be in difficulty and option selections, or while playing. I think that's just common sense.

2- People who tell you how you should play. I could elaborate a lot on that, and I think I will. That goes from those elitist who think their standards are THE standards, whether that be about bar usage or optional features, to those who criticize if you play flatfoot, tiptoed, or if you double step or crossover. I'm a pro-"my token, my way of playing" guy. I'm not one who's gonna be bothered or angered at how someone would play, the same way I would not be bothered or angered at someone who'd take a steak&cheese sub at Subway instead of a grilled chicken sub, like I take. For that matter, to anyone who express generalizations about "if someone does this or that, then he shouldn't be playing DDR", I've got some questions. First of, says who? You? And what do you know, junior? And exactly who are you, junior? My point is simple: no matter anyone's skill level, nobody has any business whatsoever telling anyone how they should play, or lacking respect just because they don't play the same way. Differences of tastes, styles and opinions doesn't warrant judgment on whether someone should play DDR or not.

Those are my 2 cents, take em or leave em!

ok i will sum it up simply. when someone who I think isnt working as hard as ME and then they say 'you suck flat is better im better you suck' i hate it....and the only people who have done that to me are the flat footed x2.
ill end it like this....if it helps you out then that is perfectly alright....but if you think that just because you can get a AAA on a song while doing it on the above subject and i can only get a AA, and then you go cocking about saying that im wrong with my playing? that is wrong. im sincearly sorry to the people who have given the good flat footed x2 solo players a bad name. im shure that in the future my ideas about them will change, for now i will stand by my decision.

Well, when it comes to any sort of elitism, if the player is a jerk about it, then what you say is understandable.

from what you've said, you sound like a total elitist.
seriously, criticizing people for playing flat-footed and using any modifiers and the bar?

I hate people who tap the beat of the song on the bar with an arcade token, RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!! Ting-ting-ting!!! I cuss people out severely for doing that, especially noobs.

I also can't stand people who sing the song while you're playing it. I have 3 advices for them:

1) You are not Kosaka Riyu
2) You are not hot enough to be Kosaka Riyu
3) You disgrace Japan with your abhorrent screeching.

I have no idea who she is but I think Emporer Z would not mind if it was her E1.gif

I don't mind people who sing as long as they don't scream excessively loud (i.e. I can still hear the music louder) or are tone-deaf.

OMG! I hate it when people use the bar! I mean, that is so stupid, and they're not impressing anyone! I mean, hello! Just because they put a bar on the machine doesn't mean you should use it. And speed mods! UGH! If you use a freakin' option in the game like speed mods, then you shouldn't be playing DDR. No matter how good you are, if you use speed mods, your achievements do not count and you should not consider yourself a legitamite DDR player. Geez! Play the game like it was meant to be played!

this one kid who played paranoia eternal on light and used the bar told me that he uses the bar sometimes and because its so tempting...i was asking myself "why??why is it tempting on light???"...also, there was a guy using the bar when playing butterfly on light, and he absolutely abused the machine! it was horrid! he left and he didnt seem to notice the expressions on our faces were "why the HELL would you DO THAT?" but, oh well. My friend also called me a wuss because i use x1 and sometimes x1.5 i explained that x1 is much harder, because the arrows are cramped and the perfect gap is smaller that way, and he rejected it. he played almost everything on x2.... goog.gif

Since when does playing 1x make the perfect gap smaller? Hey, try playing some 150+ BPM songs on 3x. Here: Play End of the Century 3x Flat. Tell me which is harder, your way or my way?
