I am trying to get a pretty big tournament together here. Maybe 3 DDR machines, up to 5 other Bemani machines and more.

I'd like to know how it compares to previous events. We would hope for a LOT of publicity so knowing its relative size and status would be quite helpful.

And please do not move this to the tournaments threads, as the people with the information might not have any upcoming tournies in their areas so they might not be reading the posts there.

Related threads, here and elsewhere:

I remember a few years ago that Arcade Infinity had a KING OF BEAT TOURNAMENT, in which DDR & several Bemani machines were involved. Even though it took 2 days to complete, it was worth the effort. The 1st day was qualifiers, and the 2nd day were 2nd round & finals. Hope that helps! Please reply, over! Thanks!

Check about SVGL 3 at Sunnyvale Golf Land in Norcal Forums. I think that was pretty big.

I would have asked this in the tourney forum because people looking for upcoming tournaments would look there, but anyway...

First, just want to know where you mean by "Here" if you do mean Kansas City, Mo.

Are you trying to have a big tournament that includes PA and performance with other bemani competitions on the side? Also, what "other bemani" are you planning to have. (If you have DMX, I'll be interested since I have family in Mizzou).

If that's the case, yes, look at the King of Beat Tourney.

Also look at Cyber Beat Nation (best California tournament of 2003). That tournament used 1 DDR machine for PA, 1 DDR machine converted between Extreme and 4th Plus for performance, and a IIDX 7th style machine.

Bemani by the bay (San Francisco) used 1 DDR machine for PA, 1 DMX machine, 1 BeatmaniaIII machine and held separate competitions on those machines.

The Fiddlestix tournament held in Arizona in November 2003 (date maybe wrong) used six machines to hold three different marvelous attack divisional tournaments. Of course, they gave away an Extreme machine.

I'm sure there are other big tournaments around. Check the Tournament Organizer Database thread in the Tournament Forum; there are links to past tournaments, and you can talk to tournament organizers.
