I apologize in advance if there is already a thread like this in the forum! I checked the last 10 pages and I seem to be in the clear!
I played DDR in the arcade for the first time last week and I got AA on "Dead End" by N&S (On Heavy!) which I was excessivly chuffed with. At that point, I decided to get a home version. I'm not planning to get a metal pad (yet ) but I thought i'd start off with a softpad. Ive read some other threads and people say that the ignition pad is a great buy, but they seem to be only available online and I have no means of payment online . Also, i live in the UK and there are no shops which sell them. So I have to settle with a cheapy softpad. Could someone run through with me the disadvantages and/or hinderences that a cheapish soft pad could cause on fast songs. (I also plan to use it a lot so will they break easily?)
Ive spotted this one (it comes with a bundle) but with a price tag (on its own) of £9.99 in not to sure if the quality is great. If someone here owns this pad, could they let me know if it is worth getting? http://shop.game.net/ViewProduct.aspx?cat=10314&mid=323706
Thanks all. (I woulda posted this message on ddruk but the sites down ) [/url]
in general they do, it depends how hard you play on it, you can check the start here thread for all of the pads but i think that you could just modify your soft pad, i think there are a few guides lingering on this site but basically it is attaching your softpad to plywood by using ducktape.

Soft pads suck. Period. Heavy isn't even fathomable on a softpad, even modded they still break easily. I would build your own pad, its quite easy, and very cheap for the quality of pad you get. _________________
