My question again:
I'm having a problem with Stepmania (all versions)...every time I try to play the game, colors starts flashing across the screen, and the entire screen turns into a big jumble of colors, rendering the program (and Windows) either extremely difficult to use, or virtually unusable until I reset. The problem usually starts right around the music selection screen.
Does anyone recognize this kind of problem and know what I should do? Thanks in advance for help... |

Its probably either a crappy video card you got, or a very very old version of SM. I dont know what else would cause it. |

| Sorry if it's already been answered, but I'm having a major problem. So, I'm playing alpha 24 happily for awhile. Then all the sudden stepmana.exe vanished from my comp tonight. So I download the 3.9ra2c or whatever, but it WON'T load the songs at all. I have a songfolder and the group one inside it, but it doesn't load. What the hell is happening? Is there a different way of getting songs to work on the new version? |

| ok, well, sorry for double posting, but, because the Rc2a sucks, I donwloaded 3.0 final, everything works except for when I try to launch the program, I get "program error; access violation". What can I do about this? |

Compared to RC2a, 3.0 final sucks. So I would recommend going back to RC2a, because out of everyone I have seen play StepMania, no one uses the old versions anymore, because the metrics are so outdated. Plus they arent online capable. Anyways, you probably hate RC2a because of this problem you are having with it, but I bet its a simple fixable mistake you made, thats all. Also Im quoting a line you said, when you said: "I have a songfolder and the group one inside it, but it doesn't load." Now, this situation won't work. You need to have the songfolder inside the groupfolder, not vice versa in your case. For example, the songfolder Max 300 would go inside the groupfolder "Dance Dance Revolution 6th Mix -MAX-" (well it doesnt have to be THAT name, but its what DDRUK used. Maybe you could give more detail on what's going on in your /Songs folder? |

When I try to record a video on SM with FRAPS, it gets very choppy. Is there any way to prevent this?

FRAPS slows down the FPS of any game you are recording. I was recording videos in Doom3, and my FPS dropped from about 30 to around 10 and below. |

Ive never found a way. But its kinda logical: Having a program record everything another program does could lag that recorded program. |

| Whenever I load Stepmania 3.9 (rc2a) the sound becomes VERY fuzzed up. It goes away after 5-10 minutes, but it is still highly annoying. When I had previous versions of Stepmania I never had this problem. Any way to fix it? |
