For some reason, modchips for PS2 don't go exactly by model number as I seem to remember them doing for PS1. Instead, they refer to various models of PS2 as "V(number)" depending on model number, serial number, and PS2 firmware (the BIOS) version. The SCPH-30001, for example, the first PS2 model, is a V1. I have the same model PS2 as you, and that's a V7. So you want a modchip that works with V7s. Pretty much all of today's modchips are compatible with V7s, IIRC. The slim model PS2 is V12, and I'm not sure what a V11 is. Anyway, you can check out this guide to PS2 versions up to V10. for more info. Modchip sites should say whether or not a chip is compatible with specific PS2 models. Divineo, for example, provides compatibility listings for the modchips in its catalog. And finally, a better place for this post would have been the DDR Console Games forum. There's quite a bit of modchip discussion there. |

This goes in Consoles, where we already have a perfectly good Modchip thread. Please look around before you post. AGAIN. _________________
