What got you started on ddr? friend? music?

Well although I did say on my profile that I've been playing for a year, I first played DDR USA in December 2001! I wasnt really hooked until the summer of 2003! It was DDR MAX 2! I think was music got me going a little bit(big fan of beats and bass sounds). Also the ppl who were playing was just amazing with their cat like agility and what got me was tgey were doing it with ease! I'm a big fan a gaming and sets me apart from the gamers in this area is I'm known for grasping challenges and performing at big time places(such as playing video games like Madden or playing in Basketball tournaments like Gus Macker). I figured that I could master DDR besides the fact that its a unusual genre for me! That itself was motivation! I may not be a elite player yet, but I've made excellent progess for someone who only played a year!

i played because i sucked at all the other games in teh arcade, and i had already beat all of my RPG's at home, so i was looking for another challenge to start with......still working on it,lol

the thing that got me started was going to the arcade..looking for Marvel Vs. Capcom, which they didnt have >/...So I was walking and all of the sudden I see some guy playing DDR, Now Ive seen DDR before just wasnt really noticing it much..for some reason after seeing that guy I wanted to play..and yeah here I am.

I heard about it a long time ago from this guy I met online at this chat that doesnt exist anymore. He kept raving about it so much that I went to Disney Quest (arcade in Orlando), and I tried it out! Ever since then, Iv'e been addicted to it and I decided to go to the arcades to play like everyday!

i saw it when it first came out. I saw a person freestyling to butterfly light and i wanted to try it it looked fun. But i was too shy because he got the whole arcade to watch him. Then when the home version was out the first one for ps2 my bro brought it home to play and he taught me how to play I still play when i can. My bro dont really play anymore i passed him in skill level a long time ago. So yea i like to thank my big bro

My gf's friend had it at his house..he played (he's on heavy) and i was like wow..ok i wanna try! i started on light..i remember when i thought end of the century light was the hardest thing ever...just yesterday I got an A on afronova heavy..2 months later

A while ago there were all these California people talking about DDR on a Digimon forum I used to go to. I was interested, and found an article on IGN about it. The article mentioned Butterfly (a whole lot), so I went and downloaded it and got hooked.

I don't know if you want to give the Digimon fans, IGN, or Butterfly the credit, but here I am.

it just looked like a lot of fun when i went to the movies and that game was there so i learned it on light. my best friend Dave from Niagara Falls got my really interested when he put me on standard by accident and forced me to do cowgirl on it. i'm in love with that song and because i cant gallop

Kinda a long story. well not too long. I went to this camp where there were a few that would always, ALWAYS, play ddr if there was one at the place we went to. Eventually a few of my friends in the camp, including the girl i like/used to like, started to play. it really made me mad because i was the only one who didnt play, so i asked my friend who was really good at ddr. he told me to just get. after finding the courage to go up to my family and asked them, i finally got it.

I went to SVGL back when they had DDR3rd Mix and DDR 1.5 (?), and I heard the song Brilliant 2 U then I got hooked.

ok my first time was when I was like 8 years old, I remeber going to gameworks for the first time and I saw some asains playing on the origional arcade DDR(with like boom boom dollar) they were really good. I really liked the song boom boom dollar, so I tried it and failed on basic(*they laughed*) when I go older I told my parents to get it for me

When I was tweleve my dad bought me DDRmax and a madcatz crappy pad(broke later) I was hooked, I still sucked, but I was determined to be like a maniac at it, so last year in the spring I buckled down and played and played...now im amazing, got a AA on dead end heavy, passed max300 and unlimited and legend wit B and C, and have tons of A's and AA's

so for all you noobs, You suck..oh yea and please get better lol
