I was looking through some news articles on the internet when I came across one that said "Video Games to make you sweat" and immediately thought they would mention DDR... and of course they did... like 3/4 of the way down the article. Here's a little entry from the article, explaining how popular the game is (or how I perceived it at first):

Quote:
But experts' pessimism didn't dampen enthusiasm of Jason Enos, product manager for Konami Digital Entertainment, who soaked through his T-shirt after hours of demonstrating his company's smash hit, ``Dance Dance Revolution.'' Players tap their feet to the correct circle on a floor pad, based on cues on the screen.

Advanced levels require fancy footwork, but players work up a sweat even on the easiest level. Players may enter height and weight to determine calories burned per minute, and they may compete against 15 other people worldwide.

WOW! 15 other people worldwide! Guess I better call up those 15 people and beat all of them, so I can be the world champ of DDR in record time! I think that ET game for the Atari even had more people than 15 playing it! Also, it's not stepping on circles, its squares. Heres the full article.

Well it gave me a laugh at least. laugh.gif

I would assume it was referring to Xbox live with simultaneous play:

Yeesh... people on these boards are harsh. I realize that the 15 other people playing meant some kind of multiplayer mode. I was just trying to poke fun at people who don't know how to explain DDR, like the article said "4 circles on a floor pad" and "calories burned per minute against 15 other people worldwide". I guess DDRFreaks are too stiff for jokes these days. frown.gif

Specifically, the article was (though not clearly) referring to the Xbox Live Tournament mode of Ultramix 2 which allows for a 16 player bracket.

Yeah...interesting. At least this article and/or commercial and/or news thing didn't make DDR look stupid.

Ya know, I realised that CAS.Sgt.LTR has a really bad avatar and Footstep has a bad signature. The poisoned minds of modern society...
