Well, I was wondering about a few pronunciations of some of the songs, and I thought others did, too. So I made THIS thread. Welcome.

These are just a few ot the songs that I can't say, and would like to know how:
.59 (point fifty-nine)
Daikenkai (day ken kai)
Gamelan de Couple (?)
Aoi Shoudou (?)
IRRESTIBLEMENT (?)
JANEJANA (they say john john-na in the song)
Kakumei (Kah coo me)
L'amour et la liberte' (La mer et la liber tay)
Matsuri Japan (Mat sue re)
Mikeneko Rock (my ken knee co)
ORION .78 (orion point seventy-eight)
Sakura (sah kur ah)
SOBAKASU FRECKLES (so bach a sue)
TSUGARU (sue gah rue)

I think that's it. (long list. so sorry riiight.gif ) I included how I thought they sounded in parenthesies. Am I right on any of them?

EDIT: Oh, I forgot. This includes artist names, too.

This is how I say them. I'm not all-knowing by any means, so I may be wrong on some/all/whatever.

.59 - Point-Five-Nine
Daikenkai - Die-Ken-Kie
Gamelan de Couple - Gam-Uh-Lon Day Coo-Pull
Aoi Shoudou - Ah-Oy Sho-Doe
Irresisiblement - Eer-Ree-Zis-Te-Bluh-Mont
JaneJana - John-Eh-John-Uh
Kakumei - Kah-Koo-May
L'amour et le liberte - Luh-More Et Luh Lib-Er-Tay
Matsuri Japan - Mah-Soo-Ree Juh-Pan
Mikeneko Rock - Mee-Kay-Neh-Koe Rok
orion.78 - Oh-Ry-Uhn Point Seven Eight
Sakura - Sah-Koo-Ruh
Sobakasu Freckles - Soe-Buh-Kah-Soo Frek-Uhlz
Tsugaru - Soo-Guh-Roo

As for artists, all I can think of is TaQ. I'm sure the real pronunciation is Tok, but out of habit, I still call him Tac.

Point five nine works too.

Quote:
Daikenkai (day ken kai)

The "dai" part is pronounced like a 10¢ dime.

Quote:
Gamelan de Couple (?)

I can't think of any words for the Gam part. Try replacing the A in Gambol to an O.

Quote:
Aoi Shoudou (?)

Ai Show-dou

Quote:
IRRESTIBLEMENT (?)

Irresistiblement. Self-explanatory.

Quote:
JANEJANA (they say john john-na in the song)

Just like the song: jah-neh-jana

Quote:
Kakumei (Kah coo me)

Uh, read the word and say it again. Just like Irresistiblement.

Quote:
L'amour et la liberte' (La mer et la liber tay)

Good lord. La-amour etc. etc. li-ber-teh

Quote:
Matsuri Japan (Mat sue re)

Irresistiblement/Kakumei-style pronunciation.

Quote:
Mikeneko Rock (my ken knee co)

Me-keh-neko

Quote:
ORION .78 (orion point seventy-eight)

Goes the way of the .59.

Quote:
Sakura (sah kur ah)

Irresistiblement/Kakument, Matsuri... I MEANT KAKUMEI.

Quote:
SOBAKASU FRECKLES (so bach a sue)

Sobakasu = Freckles. You can say Sobakasu Freckles or Freckles Sobakasu. Konami went both ways, but settled with the former in EXTREME.

Quote:
TSUGARU (sue gah rue)

Kakument.

Things like that.

Actually if you listen to the song, "Irresistiblement" is pronounced

Eee-ray-zis-tee-bleh-mont,

not phonetically how it's spelled. The song is French.

The T in Tsugaru isn't silent. Other than that, most of this looks right to me...

It's not silent. It's like the Cz in Czar.

Tsu-ga-ru, T is not silent. It’s similar to “Two”. Change W to S
Tsugaru is an old name for northern part of Japan (currently Aomori) E13.gif

They are talking about how to pronounce things in DDR when speaking them.

I'm guessing English isn't your first language, but it's ok E1.gif
