Well, I can play easy songs on guitar freaks(I think its 8th mix) like Break Down, but whenever I play songs that have like 1/64 notes I don't know how to strum the guitar fast... can any1 help me? blink.gif

I tend to hold the lever with the tips of my fingers and slowly lift it up and down. It's worked for me so far..... laugh.gif

Wow, its been about 2 years since I've posted on ddr freak, so all my info is out of date for anyone who cares.

So my question for people here, I can pick up a like new copy of GF3rd/DM2nd for 65 dollars. Worth it, or not?

That's a fairly good price; GF3/DM2 has become insanely hard to find, and used copies regularly sell for more than that on EBay.

hello, i just started playing drummania around a month ago on a DM10 and i can only pass songs with 10 and 11 rating, and 12 with auto-bass. I've notice that there's not a lot of easy songs for a DM10 and was wondering if there's any suggestions out there for improvement. Is there songs there that are easier to master and improve your skills?

I also have DTXmania but the files i got from GDAmania are pretty hard as well and they aren't the same as the ones at the arcade.

I'm still confused about GF/DM V. Is this a new arcade mix? or are they actually making a new ps2 game(wishful thinking it seems to me)

Hi Jay,

It's a new arcade mix. Basically Bemani/Konami decided to ditch the whole mix # scheme on their latest music game releases. DDR was the first with the whole DDR MAX and DDR Extreme branding, then IIDX ditched the style brand for colors a.k.a "Red" and lastly Pop N Music I believe ditched the mix branding also on their latest iteration.

hey !

As a homebuilt freak... ive wanted to make a homebuitl guitar for guitar freak.... Ive only played 10 time on the aracde and I think this game is quite fun.

here is my plan. :

For now there is no ....how could i say..... "guitar swing" switch but I may find a way to do this with a gravity switch.

The only thing left is to know the button mapping for the playstation game....

if any of you could help I would relly apreciate

thanks !

I can get the button mapping for you, but here's my idea of the 'guitar swing' part:

Putting the right sensors in the right spots.

I have a question about GF for the PS2. Can this guitar be opened up and can the pick be tightened so it isn't so loose? I read the reviews on the site that said it was hard for faster songs since it is so loose. Just wondering if anyone else has done this.
One more question, why do some of the third party controllers have 6 buttons?

I really need some help with getting GF and DM!!!!

I bought a modded PS2 awhile back. Now that I finally got a Guitar and GF1, I tried to play it, but got stuck. There's a screen with two spinning guitars (probably a caution page) then I go to a screen with a big NO sign. Y'know, the red circle with a diagonal line drawn across it, and some kanji. What I'm thinking is that it's picking up the fact that my PS2 is modded.

So I'm left with two options, I can get a fliptop with IIDX 8th style for $170. Or I can shell out over $200 for a J-PS2 + shipping. Does anyone know if this little protection thing is triggered when using a fliptop or will they play just fine? Maybe I should get the J-PS2....

Anyways, I'd appreciate anyone's input. I'm afraid that if the fliptop option is a go, it might be sold by the time I find out and try to get it. Thanks!!!!

Nope. The PS2 versions ended with GF4/DM3, and there's been pretty much no sign of Konami starting them back up again. They're about 8 releases behind, so it would be kind of futile anyway.

Supposedly it was to allow for more advanced games in the future (which will probably never happen). Maybe someone could code a sim to do it (maybe they have, I don't have a GF sim).

I just ordered Guitar Freaks 4th mix/DrumMania 3rd Mix on Game Asylum with the drum controller and a PS Xchange Boot disc.

Is this a fun game??
Many ppl say it's worth the money and the find.

Give me advice i can use, what i need to do to play imports, or/and some songs on it.
