After 3 weeks of shipping delays....My Desktop Arcade ASC has finally been shipped. It should be here by Tuesday.
In other news, I have discovered that playing Pop'n music with a dual shock, sucks balls, big fat hairy balls.
I can't wait to try out an ASC. |

Sup Uiru.
If you're playing on 9, there's a little bit of a disparity between the different levels. Also, if you play one song (like Rock Guitar) over and over and eventually pass it, that doesn't pull up your skill level across the board - only for that one song. I had the same issue with Curry and level 40's back in May. (Still can't beat some 40's. >_<)
Also, Energy Rock sucks còck. _________________

Nope. You can enter some secret codes before you start a game, but that doesn't unlock the songs permanently.

It's for the e-amuse system used in Japanese arcades. You use the card as an identifier to save your stats and such, basically.

Nope. Animelo, Animelo 2, and Disney Tunes were the only versions to play preview clips on the song select menu.

Well, there's an Animelo 2 near Detroit. Look up American Fun Center in Westland.

Does anyone know of any gameshark codes to unlock all songs on pop'n music 10? I did a quick search but found nothing. |

I just want the unlock codes for Pop'n 10, not the gameshark ones, but the ones that you enter on the main screen.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just read a couple of posts up, they don't matter anyway for long term use. |

Hi to all,
I've recently started playing some p'nm titles on ps2. The question is: does the default difficulty setting (2 for all of them, if I'm not wrong) match the arcade one?
I'm asking because I remember the psx titles were much more unforgiving, a few consecutive misses being actually enough to deplete the life bar; on the ps2 however, the life bar seems very quick to fill and slow to empty. I would say the game is much easier, overall.
So, since I've never seen any pnm arcade machine, which is the setting that best matches it? |

Hell no! You can find save yourself 20 bucks by ordering from Toys N' Joys. Here's a link http://www.toysnjoys.com. It's where I got mine's from today; you'll get it at least a week after ordering. _________________

Pop'n 10 at home's gauge is about the same as 12's at the arcade. The rest of them at home are considerably easier, specifically 9's. Something like Anime Hero R EX is passable at home, but I doubt anyone in America could do it at the arcade >_<. _________________

Hey CatchyPhraseOwen!
Tried that new Pop 'N Music 12th style game at AI last Saturday night. That game ROCKS! Especially that Japanese girl playing the Extreme modes like it was nothing! No wonder why Ryan2dx gets a kick about playing that game! Is that a trip or what? Please reply, over! Thanks!

This may also be off topic, but I also would have to buy a mod chip for my PS2. Is there any way of making it able to play japanese games without altering it? |
The games start off pretty easy. Easier to get into than IIDX. But the hardest songs are probably the most insane stuff I've ever seen in a music game.
The difficulty ladder is well done, since you can use the numbered difficulty of each song to see what fits in your range. You can use the stars similar to IIDX, but the numbers are easier to use IMO. Theres something to challenge everyone, I believe.
Japanvideogames.com is a decent place to buy the games.
Instead of a modchip, how about a Swap Magic disc and PS2 cover? |

..........im a beginner and it seemed to me like pop'n started out extremely easy and then got extreamly hard....going from normal regularly and passing, to playing hyper regularly and passing is fairly difficult. i also noticed that the number ratings arent as reliable as most think....i can pass seshuin punk but i cant pass the 20 songs or so (i dont remember the exact number) before it. _________________
