Has anyone noticed any forms of censorship in any DDR game?
In DDR Konamix for PS1, they put after the game of Love in it, but they took out the steamy lyrics, thus making it an instrumental track. However,
in Ultramix for X-Box, they put it in all its uncut glory and it still retained an "E" rating. WHy that is is beyond me.
Also, in DDR Extreme US pS2 version, in Highs off U Scorcio XY Mix, they acually kept a profanity! It was "f.u.c.k" in case you were wondering. Like Ultramix, I'm surpised that game retained an E rating as well. |

On the Max2 arcade system the song is titled "The Whistle Song (Blow My Whistle B*tch)".
But on Max2 home game for PS2, they put the title as "The Whistle Song (Blow My Whistle Baby)".

Bah. |
What's even more amusing, is even though DDRMAX2 has "Blow My Whistle Bitch" in the title, they used the "Blow My Whistle Baby" version of the song. |

I wouldnt be suprised if these small bits of profanity weren't enough to make the game a T rating. It may seem a bit strange for a game to have profanity in it to get an E rating, but can you imagine there being a T rating on DDR? That would confuse most people to no end. _________________

Yeah, I noticed that last time I played Highs Off U. You kind of have to be listening for it to hear it though. _________________

i think it was re-named "After the game" on the the PS1
next to the rating on extreme (PS2) it says lyrics / suggestive themes and not like this is a "bad" word but in extreme it has the song like a virgin
is that such a "suggestive them" |

Also, in DDRMAX US ver. for PS2, they change "gentle stress (AMD sexual mix)" to "gentle stress (sensual mix)". |

>_> I just noticed now that you said it.
No wonder I was always like "wtf" whenever I saw the banner but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Did they change the banner? Oh now I'm just totally lost...

Hmm...also, I'm surprised they didn't edit Nori Nori Nori in DDR Ultramix (2?) for XBox. Most Jap-Americans would find that pffensive. In Japanese, Nori means "seaweed". But when said 3x, it is Jap. slang for "sex". |

If I remember, there was an interview with someone from Konami who explained "nori nori nori" used in the context of the song is made to represent "the sound of dancing," not sex. Basically the song is talking about how much fun it is to parapara. |

Is Nori Nori Nori even IN Ultramix 2? It's not on the songlist on the site, and I checked UM1 & UM2.....
Help? |

For the Beatmania veterans, I thought I heard something kinda odd.
I heard a BM version of "The Earth Light" that included some consierable amounts female moaning sounds, etc. These sounds were completely absent from the Konamix version. (Frankly I think the Konamix mix was much better overall too.) |

That's why the game can get an E rating. The lyrics are for the most part, mild, with a few exceptions, which most people never notice. Only people who play the game enough can pick up on them after a while.
And Test My Best is all sexual innuendos (as are many songs) and the woman moans at the beginning and end of the song. _________________

None of which have been released on any US home versions. Why? Because America doesn't like sex Movies and tv shows where at least 10 people die every minute is fine, but god forbid anyone get naked. |
