Yeah returning it would simply be your best bet at this point. _________________

It's supposedly made for your Xbox Live connector/microphone thingy so that you can play using this pad online WHILST using talking, but apparently it doesn't work. _________________

I have some insight into the Red Octane Ignition 2.0's down arrow problem. I got mine on Christmas (THREE days ago!) and the down arrow began to exhibit the aforementioned symptoms only last night. Today I was experimenting with it, and realised that the down arrow won't respond when the left or right arrow is depressed, and that it won't respond until the left or right arrow is stepped off of (hence the delay). It doesn't work backwards, though (down arrow doesn't interrupt). Additionally, the up arrow doesn't affect the down arrow and vice versa. Because of this problem, the LD and RD jumps won't register (not even with a gallop).
I'm pretty pissed off that Red Octane would pull bullshit like this. I mean, seriously, how much testing is required to uncover this problem (unless, of course, it was intentional). _________________

I have the exact same issue. I think this is a manufacturing defect. I bought mine yesterday, and it is going back today.
I'm really turned off by this. The Red Octane cost twice as much as other "ignition" pads, and 5 times as much as regular soft pads. At that premium, you expect perfection. This falls way short. |

I'm glad to learn I'm not the only person having this down arrow issue, now I just don't know what pad to invest in. |

DO NOT BUY BNS Ignition PAD
I have gone three BNS Ignition pad. First one broke down within 1.5 months. Ghosting, missing steps when it's not suppose to. When I bought 2x more, it broke down within the same time [because I was playing Doubles].
Red Octane seems to be very similar to BNS except it last longer than usual. _________________

I have similar problems with my ignition pads. They work fine for about 5 months and then one arrow goes bad. My up arrow doesn't work right. I'll step it and it won't go. But then I'll be doing crossovers with left down right and for some reason, it flickers on the screen as if I were stepping on it. I guess the sensors just wear out, I've assumed that much. But is there anything to fix the problem? _________________

I just got my Red Octane pad for Christmas, which was a week ago tonight, so really, i havent had that much experience on it yet, other than playing 2-4 times a day for about 30-55 min. each time i play... (yes im obsessed). Im curious though, could it be possible that you might be stomping? I found that it depends on how long someone plays as to how they judge themselves on stomping. Im not saying that everyone is wrong on their opinion on the pad, i think im just looking for excuses for mine not to break down right now, that would suck. But, could it be possible that there are other factors in how long it takes the pad to break down? or is it truly crap? |

Man i H8 RO and BNS is the worst !!
CF is better than both but r there any companies that r better than CF?
GRRRRRRRRRRRR BNS is one of the worst pads.... the reason y they r not good is because they both have the same design and the CF's r not made in china but r american made and thats y they rock _________________

No, it's cause the Cobalt Flux is hand made and tested before they even ship it out to you so satisfaction is always gaurenteed.
The bigger companies like BX and RedOctane can't and won't do it because of all the quantity of pads that people buy. Oh and I just think it's a coincidence really, I guess you just have to take care of your pad too if you want it to last. _________________

ok I was thinking about ordering this pad
http://www.hartsunlimited.com/dadareddrsuh.html
and I was just wondering if an one could tell me if it is the same as the RO and BNS pads, or if it is better or worse.
I've been trough 4 soft pads and I am trying to get something better, but I don't have enough for a hard arcade style pad. _________________

I've gone through 2 ignition 2.0 pads in a week and it seems that it will not work with my xbox, the problem is that you can't do jumps with the bottom arrow. However the pad worked great on my friends ps2, i was wondering if anyone else had this problem or know of a solution |

Okay - I'm a fairly new player (doing 4-5 footers) and have an Xbox. My first few pads (cheep ones) have started flaking out already. I was going to purchase one of these ignition pads, but the last few pages are full of people talking about how crappy these pads are. I don't want to throw away 50 bucks - but is that what I'd be doing with an ignition pad?
If I need a metal pad, I'm reading a ton of posts about how crappy the RO metal pad is and lesser clones. So if I want a reliable pad do i have to build it myself? I like learning DDR - but I never thought 50 bucks would be insufficient for a reliable pad. |

I read somewhere that a bad batch of pads were made by accident, and RO is aware of the issue.
may I point out people that a recall doesn't make all the product that has already been mailed out before they discovered the problem just dissapear?
and you expect perfection with your $100? please, NOTHING is perfect. every single company in history has made a bad batch at one time or another. nobody is perfect, and your money isn't going to change that either.
so I'm sorry, your think Red Octane sucks cause of a bad batch? I'm now at 4 months and counting, FIGHTING BNS to get my money back!!! I have been fighting that company for damned 4 months!!!!!!!! they refuse to refund me for giving me defective product!!!! _________________
