You might want to try that in the hardware forum....I think.

Oh, and try going under options, then go to test input. See if any of the buttons register. If so, go to the Configure Joypad under the Step Mania options and just reinput all the arrows to their corresponding directions. That was my problem, and that's how I fixed it.

*sigh* new problem:

I can't open stepmania. The starting window will pop up and say "initializing hardware...." and then the program just stops responding and doesn't get any further. before this I had just moved alot of files to the computer as well as instaled several programs and hardware and I'm running winME, if it makes a difference. :/

I was playing it like normal, then a friend called, and so I closed stepmania and left

just came back this morning, tried to start it up and it does that

I tried reinstalling it, but that didn't help...makes no sense at all, cause absolutely nothing has changed, first it works, then it doesn't

hey guys, I don't know what to say, this is really odd...but I fixed it

the whole initializing hardware freeze thing... today is december 31st, I don't see what difference that makes, but I said to myself, "This is lame, it worked yesterday" then I set my calendar back to december 30th, and it loaded just fine.

How do I download DDR Bumper Packs. I have BitTorrent installed and downloaded 7th mix just fine. I'm having a problem downloading Extreme though. Is it because I need someone to host the bumper pack or what? Because every time I download it, it tells me to pick a place to save as for a partial download to resume. I pick my SM songs folder and it always says "Couldn't listen 10022 'Invalid argument'". SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

As I mentioned in the other thread, I got hit with that 12/31 freeze-up too, so I upgraded to RC2a, and I noticed that it wasn't storing "machine records" anymore... just "personal" records, when a profile was loaded. Are machine records a feature that's been dropped, or is there an option someplace I need to toggle?

I have a really simple question; sorry if it's been asked and answered.
On the arcade and PS2 versions I play on the right side of the screen (Player 2). I can't figure out how to set Stepmania to accept my keyboard/pad as Player 2. Anyone know?

I seem to be having a bit of a problem with StepMania for the last month or so. I'm using 3.9 rc2a, but this has been going on since the alpha 19 version.

A couple of songs seem to get garbled up for no reason. When you're in song select mode, the preview music will jump all over the place. Then when you try to play the song, the music again is all over the map, but the arrows still following the music, so they warp in and out of the screen, making the song impossible to play.

It's only doing it to a couple of songs, but these songs used to work just fine, so I don't think it has anything to do with the music file.

I'm having a problem with Stepmania (all versions)...every time I try to play the game, colors starts flashing across the screen, and the entire screen turns into a big jumble of colors, rendering the program (and Windows) either extremely difficult to use, or virtually unusable until I reset. The problem usually starts right around the music selection screen.

Does anyone recognize this kind of problem and know what I should do? Thanks in advance for help...
