so there i was, just minding my business, poking around in the metrics file for my Nocturnal Dreams theme. I canged a few things, main screen text, added c500 and c600, all was well in neverland. then suddenly, i went to turn on c600 in the options menu, and stepmania crashes! *gasp* but yeah, the error says "List "Speed", col 8 has no name"

what does this mean? how do i fix it? and what is the meaning of life (not so important, but good to know)? so yeah, please help! my happiness depends on that theme!

Sounds like you added too many speed options. At the top of all the speed things in the metrics.ini there is a thing that says speed=# or something. That number should match the number of mods that you have.

Sorry this isn't that accurate, but I don't have access to the file at the second.

Don't break your themes. The language file also needs to be edited.

the language file? what does that do, and how would i change it? BTW, i checked the "speed=10" part, and i did that correctly. i made a typo when i added the c600 but i fixed it and it still crashes at the optioons screen.

EDIT: i've added the c600 mod to all my other themes i use rgularly, but i havent messed those up, or had to do anything in the language thing either. i did the exact same thing this tiime too, but i still cant figure out what went wrong

add a line to the Languages/english.ini file for each speed mod you added to the metrics.ini file. for instance, if you added c600 to the metrics.ini file, you would add the line c600=c600 to the english.ini file. i cant say it any simpler.

Wow, thanks a lot. I didn't know that. All my speed mods work without it, but when I go to select them they just show up blank.

i added the lines to the language file, but still no luck. i think it may have something to do with the metrics, but i have no idea how to check that. any other ideas?

YES!! I DID IT!! hehe, all i did was make a typo when i entered it. i had a colon instead of a semicolon. took me 4 days to realize it. thank you for all your guy's help.
