What's on your feet while playing DDR?

i used to use my converse hitops cause they have good grip. but they ripped, so i have to use my other shoues which are adidas flow. they dont grip as well

How can you play in bare feet?? It hurts! I tried doing that on heavy at the arcade, and it didn't go so well. I also tried socks too, but i slid all around. The best thing for my feet ended up being my vans. Not too slidey, not too grippy, not too big, not too small, not too cushy...in a word, they're perfect.

converse all stars... they're light and don't weigh ya down, but they're enough shoe to grip and give a good, solid step. i've played barefoot (when i wear flip flops to the arcade), but the problem with that is that my steps won't register all the time without me stomping on the pads... i guess i'm too light...? with shoes, i don't have to stomp to make my steps count, lol.

Ive never actually been to an arcade DDR, and I seriously doubt there are any near by. But, when I play at my house, I wear SOCKS. I don't allow shoes of any sorts because they'll mess up my already crappy crap pads!

I myself prefer socks as well because my shoes are really loose (from skateboarding) and do not feel like messing around with them between boarding and ddr'ing and ya plus i don't sweat as much lol...

this is probably going to sound really stupid but i play in dance shoes, orignially i was trying to find a good pair of shoes to wear to the arcade, i first tried converse all stars which are great because they are thin, light and flat. but i still noticed they hindered me a bit so i tried wrestling shoes, they are made to conform to your feet and be really lightwieght, but when i went to get a pair i walked past a rack of dance shoes. i looked at them and they were really thin leather shoes that are like socks with pads on the bottom for soles. i instantly bought them and took them home to try out on my metal. i nearly crapped my pants, they were absurdly good. now i refuse to play in anything else. i even use them on softies because they dont ruin the pads. if your interested in buying a pair they are purchaseable from wallmart or any dance store, and there are tons of modles, mine look like this:

i know this probably sounds retarded but for shameless guys like me its worth it

Ahhh no shoes=pain (especially since the machine I play at put sand paper on the arrows to keep from slipping). I have my good ole chucks and these super cool pink and blue shoes that I got a couple of days ago...oh wait, I traded those shoes with my friend and I'm probably never getting them back. Gosh darn it. Oh well then just my chucks.

I have a flux so sometimes I decide to play in my socks, which is a lot of fun because it's really slippery

At Arcade - DC's...I've tried out a few pairs, but they seem to work out the best.
