I bought one on Ebay and UPS totally destroyed the pad. The pad was actually packaged quite well. I got the money back but I will never deal with UPS because of the attitude, waste of time, and lack of care. Goes to show you that it IS possible to break a flux  |

CF's dont exactly have "sensors" but just two pieces of sheet metal contacts. Don't let the $300 price tag fool you into thinking its something extremely complicated and elaborate. lol. you're pretty much paying for durability but its worth it.

| Im planning on ordering my CF pads after next week when i get the money, and im wondering what is the best way to mod it to where i can add a rail but also be able to take it off so i can fit it under a 1 ft. space. i cant exactly weld a rail to it directly. Any ideas? |

i made a frame with a detatchable bar but the rail moved back about 3 inches while playing...not comfortable... your best bet would be 1) yes....a chair 2) build a frame for the whole thing and mount your bar directly to it. if your wanting a bar thats not gonna move then you need to make your whole frame solid. dont make the mistake i made and build it in sections.

Merry Christmas! I just got to open my CF pad today, and its worth the money. Very responsive. and such. I've been using a soft pad for a long time, so the adjusting to step intesity (stepping harder, not playing harder songs) might get some taking used to.
As for durability, no problems within the hour I've had it. Which is good. |

i got mine today, and of course, im worried. on my soft pad i didn't have to step very hard at all, but on the CF i find it takes more to make it register. it feels like the button is always sort of ballooned up, and when you press it it clicks down. this is normal, right? thanks
P.S. i weigh 120 pounds.

Yes, this is normal. Mine is exactly like that. After about 30 minutes of breaking it in, it'll feel great and more responsive. |

All I did was play Max300 three times in a row. I only only past it once, because I was so tired, but all those steps will break it in better than anything else.
I have a quick question. I want to transport my CF with me a lot to friends houses ect. My mom isn't too happy about this because she says it will break it. I remind her of the warrenty but she says "it will break it in the long run. After maybe 7 months it will break." Is she correct, or am I? Is the answer somewhere in beatween that?

If you really care about the pad, and treat it like your baby, the owners manual says to clean it once a month, which I think is more than needed. The lifespan depends how much you play on it and the conditions or the area you are playing in. |

Just bring a screwdriver and some tape every time you bring the pad somewhere, and make sure any wires didn't get loose. If they did, tape em down. And a cleaning every one or two months should make the pad last for years. |

unless you use it as a sled on the highway then i dont think transporting its going to hurt it too much besides the usual dings and such from transporting.lol.

I used to take my pad to other locations on a weekly basis and never had any problems. It has gone to work, to classrooms, to gymnasiums, to study lounges, and, of course, to my basement. Over 300 people have danced on it now and it's still doing just fine.
My only advice would be to not drop it. But that's pretty obvious. I've transported it both lying flat in my trunk and standing up on edge in the back seat of my car - neither position caused any damage.
I've carried it above my head, off my hip, and vertically in front of me. I've set it on concrete, wood, and my sneakers (have to put it somewhere long enough to open doors). Still no damage.
Oh, my pad is now 11 months old.

how much does it cost for shipping and handling?
and no Cutriss it doesnt say on the CF website and I asked one of the people who work there and didnt give me an answer.
so who knoes it

about 40 bucks, I think. Its worth it. They delivered to me in a week. |

Hey this may have been asked before:
What is the difference between the v1 and v2 Cobalt Flux pads?
I know the first one had the start and select right on the pad and the new one is on the control box. Is this the only difference? Is one better than the other? |

Shipping is aproximatly $45 and is flat rate via Fed Ex Ground. That I know for sure, and the staff way back when has told me this.
The only difference that I know of is that there is no Select and Start on the pad on the version two edition; they are on the controller box but you knew that already. I believe the other change was that there were nine buttons that could be easily triggered if I recall correctly. Version two edition of the pad boasted the middle center button if I recall correctly. I am not sure at all as all the pads I've seen are version two at this point. No old school Cobalt Fluxes for me.

Wow, i hate CFs with ultramix 2, it like, lags after u hit the button, but sometimes it doesn't. And it says the score late sometimes, i hate it.
