Would it be a bad Idea to do a handstand all the way through Tsugaru's long freeze? _________________

Nah, not at all. Some Japanese guy held handstands on and off throughout Twilight Zone and made it look pretty badass. =) _________________

I was thinking that since there is that long stream and then it ends abruptly, to a part pretty scarce with arrows, I was thinking of on that first up arrow just jumping really high in the air and spinning around as fast as I could, and then land on the right arrow, or whatever comes next. I don't know about the rest though. Any tips?
Also, I have a freestyle dream, to someday make a couples routine to Tsugaru, where two guys come in in full samurai outfits and wooden swords and like have a sword battle. The tempo stop in the beginning of the song could be like, them bowing, and then at the end, the last few steps could be done by one of them falling on their knees, and then all the way down, like dead. It would be awesome. |
O_O I have also always pictured a tsugaru routine practically EXACTLY as you explained. Odd. |

The only way I freestyle is I just tap the steps with my hand... Pretty lame. |

I freestyle by taking other's ways and just putting them into one. Weird really. So far, the only song I can freestyle without making an @$$ out of myself are five foot songs. _________________

I can't dance at all. I'm thinking of using props for an upcoming tournament. White guy needs some sort of edge.
For the record, last knee drop I did was a couple years ago....it was intended for an arrow but hit a screw. Never again.
Not scaring anybody, but if you want to kneedrop, use some padding. And no, a kneecap doesn't count. _________________

Tournament-proven rules of props:
1) If you hold it the entire time, you will not win.
2) If the prop is bigger than your arm and is not a cane, you will not win.
3) If you use more than three props, you will not win. If you just want to fuck around with a grab bag of "wacky" objects, sure...but don't expect to show up anyone.
4) If you are white and your prop is native to Japan (fan, samurai sword), you will most DEFINITELY not win and people will throw Pop'n Music controllers at your face.
5) Glowsticks have never won a tournament, and for good reason - they limit foot movement and limit the arms to 2-4 "neat" looking effects.
6) Taking your hat off and putting it back on has become as big a cliche as the handslap by now.
I'm not completely serious about all this, of course, but given the examples of prop-users of the past who have lacked the creativity to flesh out the REST of their routine...it's pretty obvious why they didn't win, much less place. The props became THEM, and they were left with nothing more. (Example: Some guy at CBN who tried to play his violin all throughout Butterfly doubles, stumbling around and forgetting his arrows. I wanted to punch something.)
Sadly, legitimately funny comedy/prop routines are few and far between - JTF's "ripoff" Wild Rush and S|1p's Dynamite Rave LV are the only two I can think of. A prop is BEST used in a familiar break in the song or as a subtle add-in to the routine - small stuff like a sweat rag, a pack of mentos, or a scarf (although keep in mind these have already been used). Be creative, don't let the prop overstay its welcome. _________________

THAT WAS THAT THEMASTER42 GUY?! I thought he failed the song.
If it was him, then...well, while I liked his 2nd routine, I think there were plenty of freestyles in day 1 that topped whatever he was trying to do with the violin. _________________
