I've spent a little time making some stepfiles with Stepmania's editor, learning some of the more subtle nuances of the program and it's potential pitfalls (recording over the section you just created, etceteras.)

I've looked around on Google and I haven't found any really good tutorials for people who download Stepmania and say "I want to make a stepfile for x song." (Plus there is some oddness on stepmania.com now that they're Wiki-izing the site.) Stuff about installing, finding songs, configuraiton and gameplay, but I didn't find any sites that really blew me away as far as making stepfiles go.

I'd like to bring to the table contributing a tutorial for new people as far as creating Stepmania stepfiles, etceteras. Not just a text file, but something that shows the steps (some screenshots to give people a better overview of that is happening.) At first I thought of making it on my web site (stepfiles.rbmk1000.com*) but then I thought that the people at DDRFreak may want is, as a contributed article or whatnot.

Again, I did some brief searching both on Google, Stepmania, and DDRFreak, so I'm guessing that there isn't something like this that is readily available right now.

Drop me a PM if you are interested. (Jason, IG, any other Admins I am not famililar with.)

* - I could host the image files on my RBMK account to save bandwidth if an article is desired.

One question: can we still eat orphan children for the economic prosperity of England? Because if we can't, this baby meat baster I bought is gonna go to waste.

Dang, well that answers that, I suppose. Might still go ahead with an article on my site though.

Actually, if you write an article, we wouldn't mind taking it as a contributed article. Just follow the instructions in the contributors thread.
