A good way to improve is to stop reading all of the posts in this thread and practice E13.gif .

I've reached a point in my playing ability where the only thing I can really improve on is accuracy. I can read and execute any step pattern, the only way to get better is too condition myself to improve my shear muscular and cardiovascular stamina.

DDR was so fun when it only took a day or so to pass the next hardest song, a goal could so easily be beaten with practice. Now it's a rare acomplishment to advance to a greater ability to play, and it's respectable whenever a regular at my arcade finishes something new. E7.gif

Okay, I only know about the home versions, so if you play at the arcade only just bear with me...

If you have the DDR Extreme home version play Kick The Can and other 6 footers. For DDRMAX2 try Dream A Dream, both versions of Kind Lady, Break Down Standard (helps with your speed at jumps), In The Navy to learn gallops and speedy jumps, and AM-3P once you feel you're up for a challenge with crossovers. For DDRMAX do the Look to the Sky remix (the original is harder), my generation, Sandstorm to learn 16ths, and Holic for another challenge. I haven't unlocked all the songs in DDRMAX yet, but i hope that helped.

This seems to be a good list so far, thanks. I don't quite understand what "gallops" are, perhaps if i keep playing that one i'll figure it out.

I have to be one of the slowest Heavy AAAers ever. My first one was over a year ago and I've still only got 13. Does anybody have any tips for this?

I need help getting higher grades on max 300, i passed it for the first time in may or somewhere around there and i havent improved a single bit (sometimes i even FAIL E2.gif ).
The parts i have problems with are the first 8th note run, the second 8th note run and the last 8th note run just before the song ends.
I think the major problem is that im using the bar, and that im not used to bar raping.. it just feels very awkvard and as soon as i use the bar on any other song i play much worse than without it. But hey, this is max 300 and i don't have the stamina to do the whole song without the bar ( i have tried).
So any advise on how to improve? Should i build my stamina so i can do the whole song without the bar or what? Are there any songs i can train on so i can improve my stepping speed?

I read that, and it still didn't make any sense to be. Is it those arrows you have to hold? I have trouble with those if there's a lot of them.

there is no problem for me reading the notes on max 300 I just want to know how people play on flat foot and they are doing these really fast steps and and lets say it left, down,up,up,left they can do that with only the right foot going on the down arrow and the rest with the left foot without barely picking up their feet. what is the best way to learn how to do this?

Hey, I got a question. What are the best songs on DDRMAX2 for PS2 to improve on the following things. Speed, stamina, crossovers, and gallops? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tsugaru has both crossovers and gallops, so that's a good song to practice. As far as stamina goes, just play for hours on end, and you can do that since you would be playing at home. Afronova and End of the Century are good songs to work on stamina too. Try to avoid playing Heaven or Will I or Days Go By. They are good fun songs to play, but if you have a goal in mind, playing harder songs is really the way to go. If you want to work on your technical skills, practice Vanity Angel and Xenon.

To tell you the truth, there isn't very much to Max2 to practice with. I used it primarily to be able to -read- Maxx Unlimited. (yet to consistently pass it though) If you can, play at the arcade more often. Playing on a metal pad will increase your skills faster than at home on a soft pad. It does get expensive at an arcade, but your efforts will be better recieved. That and the song selection will be WAY better. Good luck.
