So I just checked out the FAQ and it sounds like there is no PS2 to USB adapter that works reliably with the Cobalt Flux.

I have ordered Stepmania and a Cobalt Flux, and I suppose I'm looking for the best I can get (if not something that works 100% of the time).

it sounds like the Super Dual Box is the best one, right? Or has there been an advance since the FAQ was written?

That's cool, but just in case....
Anyone have a recommendation for "the" adapter for the newer Cobalts? I assume since I just ordered mine, it won't be 1.0

Based on research I've done, it sounds like this one may be my best bet for the Cobalt pad V2.

Has anyone used this one with a version 2 Cobalt?

dumb question time for the newbie...
where in uk would i get an adapter? what pad would work with it? is it going to be so hard and expensive to do this? yeah ive read the FAQ on this but it dont tell you where to buy them. As long as it works with a ps2 soft pad im happy (money is tight - too much goes in arcades!)

I do believe that lik-sang.com ship nationally, there based out of China it think and they shiped to me in US, It will probably be cheaper to find someone in the uk though. Probably range around $20

hmmm that could be a problem as I have no credit card..
I'm sure google or ebay would provide me with some stuff or maybe USA adapters might work.

This is my Adapter I just got.
http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=23&products_id=93&
I'm using it with a BNS metal pad, and I've also tried it with a Red octane Ignition pad, the ones with the foam in it. And I keep having the same problems. When I hold down the right arrow the left one won't work, and also when I hold down the up arrow the down arrow won't work. Ive tried the up+start+select thing, joy2key, remapped it, downloaded the newest version of stepmania. The drivers won't install for some reason maybe their too old. I'm running on XP, in one post someone said theres a way to turn "Ignore Axis on." Where is that?? Its not in my control panel/game controller configuration. If I could turn that off, or maybe the arrows would just register as buttons (because multiple buttons can be held down at once) maybe that would solve my problem. But it seems that was what joy2key was for. Except it didn't work, I would've of posted but I'm kinda desperate, I read everyones replies and tried to get as much info out of this as possible, but came up nowhere. So sorry to take up your time, and thanks in advance.

What kind of adaptor do you have? Usually you can download the software online, we just need to know what adaptor it is. Do you have access to a computer with a floppy drive? Then you can e-mail or burn the data to your notebook

Did you try using the converter with something besides stepmania? Maybe another game or an Emulator, I know there is a way to remap in stepmaina but i'm not sure where it is.

I couldn't find a parallel adapater anywhere, So I picked up the Super Dual Box on Ebay and tried it out with my brand new Cobalt Flux.

No dice.

A regular PS2 controller works fine in Stempania no matter which port I use, but when I plug in the Flux none of the buttons or arrows do anything at all.

Any suggestions? I really need an adapter that will work with a newer Cobalt Flux.

Can anyone make a suggestion?

I have the same question livein.

So far I can tell you which one DOESN'T work, and that's the one I posted right above.

No one can give me an answer on what does work......but I'm still searching.

I just ordered the Parallel adapater from levelsix. If it works, I'll let you (and others) know.

I sure will.

I'm not sure why there is no "Widespread" favorite. There have got to be more than a few people out of the thousands with Cobalts that use Stepmania. Maybe none of them are reading the threads all over the place asking how to get the two to play well together. It's frustrating. E19.gif
