You could certainly attempt to play both parts by yourself, but I have a feeling it would be extremely difficult on harder songs.

no actual doubles mode. However, most of the easy songs line up to where you can use both drums. You do have to hit the large icons with only one drum stick on some songs though.
Easy complete using both drums
...two songs down on normal with 2 drums...
... one oni song left..... _________________

Notice the title of the game is "taiko drum master" not dualshock rhythm maker.
This game is a lot harder using the drum, and playing the actual rhythms.
...25 seconds with the drum...
....7 (easy) songs beat using both drums.... |
This makes no sense, especially if you consider the way I played it (I treated the patterns the way they are - ie I wouldn't do 99999 as 98989 I'd do it as 99999)
I typed up a big post saying how this makes no sense, but internet explorer decided it would be funny to erase what I typed after it somehow hit the back button.
However let's make this interesting. I MIGHT buy taiko drum master in the future. The keyword is might and I'm leaning towards no.
However, if I do, and get better scores than I do with the drum thing, you have to post a picture of yourself, with a "what just happened?" look on your face and a piece of paper taped (and covering, you faggo) your groin area saying "Arch0wl owned me harder than a kick in the nuts".
If I lose, I will post a picture of when my girlfriend thought it would be funny to make me wear limited too clothing and take a picture. |

DDR is too easy because I can AAA everything on a Dual Shock.

how could you possibly compare hitting stuff with your feet to hitting it with your thumbs? that is a horrible argument and it doesn't make sense.
You're comparing hitting something with your feet to hitting something with your hands, when I was comparing to hitting something with my hands to... hitting something with my hands.
It makes no sense that the drum would be harder, compared to the way I played it. If anyone can give me logical reasoning for this comparing the two, go for it. |

There's a LOT more motion involved, and you're required to use considerable alternating-hand technique in order to play rolls that move between the face and rim at unusual intervals. It doesn't matter which side of the drum you hit, so you end up moving your hands back and forth around 4 sensors in order to play long streams effectively with minimal double-hitting. Single-handed rolling is fairly difficult on a Taiko style drum, what with the weight balance of the sticks, and required striking force.

If it doesn't matter which side of the drum you hit, then that's incredibly easy, I would treat it the same way as the ps2 controller but bigger. I can just jackhammer all the runs like I did with the PS2 controller. Except, it was hard to jackhammer the L1 button on the ps2 controller because the L1 button is at a weird angle.
As for if I was to play it with "more motion", we'll see. I heavily doubt it. The hardest songs are like 130-150 bpm 16ths, nothing really hard. |

Like I said, jackhammering isn't all that easy. The weight balance of Taiko sticks is not intended for single-handed rolls, and you have to hit with a pretty good amount of force.

I got Technic Beat today, and this game with the controller.
Like I predicted, the game is easier on the taiko controller than with the ps2 controller. I don't have oni mode unlocked yet, but I beat the dragon shine whatever song on hard fairly easily. |

you have to do carmen on oni
alternating difficulty crazy
using the dualshock instead of the drum is like using a portable dvd player instead of a widescreen tv with surround sound. its just not the same.
or something
p.s. i love your stepfiles _________________
